- I like the beautiful green campus of Kalyani University. The infrastructure is also impressively good.
- The faculty members of the department are highly qualified. And, the overall campus life is very good. I enjoyed my campus life.
Remarks :
Kalyani University takes an entrance examination before taking admission to any MA regular courses. The syllabus of the entrance examination includes the total syllabus of graduation in the same subject. I was admitted to Kalyani University because of the beautiful green campus and the fame of the University. The English department of Kalyani University is well-known for its curriculum and the level of teaching faculty members. I have completed my graduation from the same University. Thus, I had a deep love for the University.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The MA course at Kalyani University comprises 2 years of four-semester courses. Each semester exam happens at the end of the 6 months duration. The faculty members are highly qualified. Every faculty member possesses a degree. The total number of professors is three. , besides this, there are four assistant professors in the department.
Internships Opportunities :
I have not opted for any internship program. Our department does not provide any internship opportunities. Thus, I think this is a minus point of our English department at Kalyani University. They should include this thing in their course curriculum.
Placement Experience :
One minus point of our department is that there are no placement cells in our department. After completing my MA, I started preparation for the UGC NET examination. I want to be admitted to a regular Ph.D. course.
Campus Life :
I love the campus life of Kalyani University. Every year the English department conducts an annual reunion for the ex-students. At the time of the reunion, they publish a book namely Radix. This book includes different types of writings and drawings of the students. In the central library of the University, one can find a vast number of books. The English department runs a Facebook group for the present and past students of the English department. Besides this, I opted for a hostel. I was admitted to BT MEN's hostel at Kalyani University. The food quality of our hostel is great. At least two days a week, we are chicken. Every day we are fish and egg, but alternatively in the morning and night. Besides this, we used to eat vegetables and corn. There were 100+ borders in our hostel. The rooms in the hostel were so big. We stayed with three students in one room. But, the infrastructure quality of the hostel is impressive.

Placement Experience :
Placements are not being offered from our college solely. But internship is being offered in the last 6 months mandatory for the completion of the four year course. The placement thing is solely on you like how capable are you to get into one hospital. But this college has nothing to do with it.

One should not be have any backlogs to sit for campus placements and should keep a decent GPA as many companies puts a cut off GPA. Placements are very decent and almost 70 percentage gets placed many of the others gets into higher studies

Student should not have any Backlog and Minimum 60% throughout academics , those who qualify this criteria they can be part of placement drive. Cognizant - 12 , TCS - 4, Bavistech - 8, Utah Tech Labs - 15. Highest - 9 LPA , Average - 3.5 LPA Around 30% student got placed. I got placed and after getting degree i will join that compnay.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.

Placements are for MSc batch only. Last year the highest package was 28LPA from Citi Bank, Gurgaon. Majorly hiring companies that come in FETSU for placements only come to maths dept in SFSU. Packages offered here are based on qualities. It decent.
