- What I like about this college is the environment.. It's very good... The natural beauty is very beautiful... There are many farms and gardens in our campus...
- Infrastructure is very good.. All the staffs are very good and helpful.
Dislikes
- Sometimes there are never ending exams... Which is a bit annoying but they are for our own good.
- Sometimes they become very strict about the attendance.. But that is for our good... Not bad exactly.
Remarks :
Good aspect of our college is that it provides very good and disciplined education. The teaches are very helpful and attentive. Also, there are many scopes in Agriculture and Horticulture. Students are eligible for every job like banking, Food sectors, teaching profession, Research and so on. Basically Students can get in through their 10+2 qualification and percentage. Also they can get in through an exam called ICAR. Basically if a student is getting in through their 10+2 result then the cut off is 94% above. But 3 counselling are held, so if they score above 93%, there are high chances of getting in.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course because the basic economy of our country is based on agriculture and I really wanted to contribute in mankind in whatever ways possible. The faculties are very good and teachers are very professional and attentive and very helpful. Exams are held semester wise.. There are 8 semesters... And 2 semesters are held every year. This is a 4 years degree. For each semester the fees needed is 6775 approx. Students can avail Vivekananda Scholarship based on the criteria of their family income.
Internships Opportunities :
I am still studying and haven't graduated yet.. So i haven't done any internship yet... But students can do internship under various private sectors... They are given field works or different experiences so that they become eligible for future work purposes.
Placement Experience :
Students can apply for different jobs after their graduation... Also they can go for further studies and can do Msc or Mtech or Phd if they want.... Different private sectors visit our college and the maximum package offered after Bsc is 3-3.5 LPA... The salary gets increased according to their performance and experience.
Campus Life :
Every year Freshers Programme is held.. And social programme is also once in every 2 years. There is a very big library in our college... Students can avail every book possible. Interyear cricket and football tournament are held every year... The hostel facility is good.. 2 meals, one in the morning and one in night is given. Also there are canteens in every hostel... Students can eat by paying whatever they want.

Placement Experience :
Placements are not being offered from our college solely. But internship is being offered in the last 6 months mandatory for the completion of the four year course. The placement thing is solely on you like how capable are you to get into one hospital. But this college has nothing to do with it.

One should not be have any backlogs to sit for campus placements and should keep a decent GPA as many companies puts a cut off GPA. Placements are very decent and almost 70 percentage gets placed many of the others gets into higher studies

Student should not have any Backlog and Minimum 60% throughout academics , those who qualify this criteria they can be part of placement drive. Cognizant - 12 , TCS - 4, Bavistech - 8, Utah Tech Labs - 15. Highest - 9 LPA , Average - 3.5 LPA Around 30% student got placed. I got placed and after getting degree i will join that compnay.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.

Placements are for MSc batch only. Last year the highest package was 28LPA from Citi Bank, Gurgaon. Majorly hiring companies that come in FETSU for placements only come to maths dept in SFSU. Packages offered here are based on qualities. It decent.
