I had got this college based on my rank. Secondly, this college was the only medical college that was closest to my house. So I don't have to avail the hostel facilities. Education quality is pristine. The admission process started with a student verification where we were required to bring along every possible document for verification. After successful verification, students were assigned colleges based on their ranks . The cut-offs keep rising each year so one should take a look at the previous cut-offs and their increasing pattern.
I've always wanted to become a doctor and for that, the first step you should clear is the giant called National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET. Almost all our faculties here at CNMC&H are holders of a doctorate and are practitioners themselves. The teaching method undoubtedly has undergone a lot of changes since the pandemic and the teachers are coming up with new educational reforms still. We have a total of 3-semester exams or Internal Assessments before we can appear for the final MB or the Profesional (Proff) exams which are held at the end of each professional year. All these are carried out within less than 12 months so the difficulty level is a tad bit high when you think about the huge portions you gotta cover. The cost of studying in a government medical college is very cost-efficient. We have to pay a tuition fee of Rs750 per month only.
I haven't opted for any internship as of now. So honestly speaking I am not qualified enough to be speaking about the same. Also, I am writing so much in here because it's showing "Input should be more than 200 characters"
Almost all the students are eligible for placement during the internship years. Following this, during the housetership program, a few students get placement opportunities depending on their merit and skills. I'm still a noob in these aspects of package and placements and whatever knowledge I have regarding these are from my seniors. My plans after getting the degree is to first appear for NEET- PG following which I plan on taking up surgery if my rank permits.
The fest of CNMC&H is claimed to be the biggest Medfest of Kolkata. It's called AGON and is usually held in September. The pre-Agon events and competitions start almost a month beforehand while the main fest takes place over 4 days with the greatest possible fun and amazement. We've got several libraries within the college campus itself where one can avail of any book at any time once you've issued yourself a library card. Classrooms are supplied with a central cooling along with tons of fans so studying inside them during the hot summers is a blessing. The lecture halls have sloping seating arrangements so not being able to see in the front is never a problem for us. We have several groups and clubs within our college that indulge in sports and extracurricular activities like dance , singing, painting , debate, drama, online gaming etc I'm not in any hostel as of now so I wouldn't be the best person to give insight on this particular aspect.
Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
