- The fees is pretty affordable as compared to other private engineering colleges in south Kolkata and the roi is better regarding the placements
- The infrastructure is not that good but campus life is pretty enjoyable due to the fests and clubs and the college being located in a populated area and easily connected to metro and bypass.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure and campus area is quite small than other colleges.
- The placements are not that good for other engineering departments
Remarks :
Admission was smooth process by the admission cell you needed to submit your class 10,12 details marksheet and other identity documents and took around 1-2 hrs. No group discussion or interview is required for direct admission contact the college beforehand and for counselling you need to apply for wbjee counselling. Management quota is also available
Course Curriculum Overview :
Ece is a very wide aspect subject I can apply for both IT sector jobs as well as the Core sector in this degree and it has many applications in all the fields of engineering and it was my personal preference. The faculty is well qualified including teachers with PhD degrees from reputed institutions such as IIT KGP and Jadavpur. The teaching method is very good and the teacher supports the students outside the classroom too and helps weaker students individually. The exams are under the MAKAUT board and we have four internal theory examinations named CA and two practical internal exams PCA within one semester so exams are pretty frequent and class tests are taken individually by teachers. The difficulty level is quite high in the main semester exam compared to the internals as the syllabus is wide and the questions are very unpredictable in MAKAUT Board.
Placement Experience :
Eligibility criteria for most companies is 7 cgpa and no active backlogs though some companies may have other criteria. Some top recruiters are TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, L&T, Capemangii and others The highest is around 25 lpa from this college last year high was around 9.5 lpa and the avg package for ECE is around 5 lpa Almost all students who sit in the placement are placed but recently due to the recession the number has been decreasing I plan to get a Mas degree after completing of Bachelor's and then sit for job interviews
Campus Life :
Many fests are conducted in college namely: Prarambh, Flames, Xaplotes, Celluloid, Phoniex and many more. Sports fests are conducted in the winter months (dec-feb) and the cultural and technical in the months of (march-June). Books and journals are readily available in the library free of cost to borrow and all subject books for higher studies and exams such as GATE are also available and semester books are also provided by library for free. Sports events are carried out by sports clubs sportivo including football cricket basketball and indoor games such as Table tennis chess and many more. College teams also take part in inter-college sports tournaments. GDSC (Google Development Club) supported by Google is run by students College doesn't provide any Hostels mostly local flats and house owners rent their homes as hostels to students who share a room. The average fee is around 5000-6000 for a hostel with food and is within walking distance from college approx 5 mins.

Placements are not being offered from our college solely. But internship is being offered in the last 6 months mandatory for the completion of the four year course. The placement thing is solely on you like how capable are you to get into one hospital. But this college has nothing to do with it.

One should not be have any backlogs to sit for campus placements and should keep a decent GPA as many companies puts a cut off GPA. Placements are very decent and almost 70 percentage gets placed many of the others gets into higher studies

Student should not have any Backlog and Minimum 60% throughout academics , those who qualify this criteria they can be part of placement drive. Cognizant - 12 , TCS - 4, Bavistech - 8, Utah Tech Labs - 15. Highest - 9 LPA , Average - 3.5 LPA Around 30% student got placed. I got placed and after getting degree i will join that compnay.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.

Placements are for MSc batch only. Last year the highest package was 28LPA from Citi Bank, Gurgaon. Majorly hiring companies that come in FETSU for placements only come to maths dept in SFSU. Packages offered here are based on qualities. It decent.
