BITS Pilani runs UG, PG, and PhD courses in Engineering, Sciences, Pharmacy, and Management. M.E. is one of its major PG programs. Students can also choose B.Pharm, M.Pharm, MBA, M.Sc, PhD, and Work Integrated Learning Programs (WILP) for working professionals.

BITS Pilani Admissions 2026

BITS Pilani admission is entrance based for courses such as BE, ME, MBA, B.Pharm, M.Pharm, M.Sc, and PhD. After the entrance stage, students may have to take part in counselling or a personal interview, depending on the course.

• For BE, B.Pharm, and M.Sc admission, BITS Pilani conducts BITSAT in 2 Sessions. Session 1 and Session 2 are held in May and June.
• M.E. and M.Pharm admission is through the BITS Higher Degree (HD) Online Test. The institute also accepts GATE scores for M.E. and GPAT scores for M.Pharm.
• For MBA admission, BITS checks Business Analytics Admission Test (BAAT) / CAT / XAT scores, interview performance, work experience, and academic record.

Note:Students who appeared again for all 10+2 subjects in a later year cannot apply for BITSAT 2026 under the revised eligibility rule for the 2026 cycle.

BITS gives direct admission to students who secure the first rank in any Central or State Board, without considering their BITSAT score, through the Direct Admission to Board Toppers Scheme. First-rank holders from the PCM stream may choose any Integrated First Degree program. PCB stream first-rank holders may choose B.Pharm., BE Environmental and Sustainability Engineering, and M.Sc. Biological Sciences, if they meet the given eligibility and minimum marks rules.

BITS Pilani Step-by-Step Admission Process 2026

• Register on the official admissions portal at @admissions.bits-pilani.ac.in. Fill the BITSAT application form, upload the required documents, and pay the registration fee online.
• Take BITSAT 2026. If a student appears in both sessions, the better score is used.
• Download the BITSAT scorecard from the official portal.
• Fill and submit the Admission Preference Form on the admissions portal.
• Add 10+2 marks and place programme-campus choices in the preferred order.
• BITS Pilani makes the rank list using the BITSAT score. JEE Main or any other score is not used.
• The admissions portal releases seat allotment and the offer letter based on rank and preference order.
• Accept the allotted seat and pay the admission fee of INR 60,500 within the given deadline on the admissions portal.
• Report to the campus for document checking and enrolment steps as per the academic calendar.

Note: Board Topper Direct Admission: First-rank holders of any recognised Central or State board in the 2026 result get direct admission to their chosen programme, regardless of BITSAT score, if they meet the minimum eligibility rules.

BITSAT 2026 Exam Pattern

Note:

• Bonus Questions: A student who finishes all 130 questions before the test time ends can attempt 12 extra questions. These include 3 each from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, and Logical Reasoning. After starting the bonus section, the student cannot go back to earlier questions.
• Medium & Format: BITSAT is held only in English as a Computer-Based Test (CBT). There is no sectional time limit, so students can move between sections during the test.
• Scoring: Each correct answer gives +3 marks, each wrong answer carries -1 mark, and unanswered questions get 0.
• Syllabus: The BITSAT syllabus follows NCERT Class 11 and 12 topics for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology.
• Application Fees: For Session 1, the BITSAT application fee for male candidates at Indian centres is INR 3,100. For both sessions together, the fee is INR 5,600. Fees differ by session, gender, and exam centre.
