Eligibility

For B.E Marine Engineering Admissions, candidates must secure a minimum average of 60% in 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with a 50% minimum aggregate in English.
For other BE courses, candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks (45% in the case of reserved categories) in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
For BTech courses, candidates must pass 10+2 with Mathematics and/or Computer Science as compulsory subjects.

Selection

Applicants for B.E.Marine Engineering will be chosen based on a written/personal/medical examination.
Applicants for B.E. (Electrical Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and B.tech will be chosen based on their performance in the entrance exam and personal interview.
For B.E. Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering, JEE or AIEEE students would be preferred. Entrance exams and personal interviews are also acceptable.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria:

All PG admissions will be made based on the student’s performance in the Entrance Exam and Personal Interview.
Candidates for the M.E. program must have an undergraduate degree from a recognized university in a relevant field.
Any degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% will be accepted for the MBA application.
Candidates who have taken the CAT, MAT, XAT, ATMA, JMET, or TANCET will be given preference in the MBA.

Eligibility

55% marks in the PG program.
Admission is based on an Interview and entrance examination of the university.
Candidates in the Full-time category must conduct research in AMET and be available for curricular, co-curricular, and associated activities during working hours.

Selection Criteria

Aspirants interested in enrolling in the Ph.D. program should complete the required application form, which can be accessed from the University website, and submit it through the proper channels by the due date specified in the announcement released from time to time. Normally, the University will send out Ph.D. admission notifications four times a year (in January, April, July, and October).

The applications of eligible individuals will be evaluated by the Vice Chancellor's Departmental Research Committee (DRC)/Research Admission Committee (RAC).

The successful candidates will be admitted to the Ph.D. program based on their performance in the entrance exam, interview, and DRC/RAC recommendations.

Ques. What are the recreational facilities available at AMET?

Ans. It has an excellent state infrastructure consisting of a Library, Wi-Fi, and some laboratories like Naval Architecture, Nautical Science, Petroleum Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, and some others. Sports and games facilities are available. It also provides hostels to students.

Ques. Does AMET provide Scholarships?

Ans. AMET University offers scholarship programs for deserving students. The Shree Janakiraman Scholarship is provided to students belonging to the economically backward section. The Meritorious Student Scholarship is provided to those who have scored more than 90% in their 10+2 with a fee concession of 15%. The Single Parent Scholarship provides a 15% fee concession for students who have a single parent and are economically poor.

Ques. What is the application fees for AMET admission?

Ans. Students can apply in both online and offline modes. For an offline application, students can either pick up the form from the University Office in person for Rs. 1000/- or download it from the website and mail it to the AMET University Admissions office in Kanathur or the City office in Anna Nagar.

ALL ABOUT AMET UNIVERSITY

What I Liked

The bridge simulator and ecdis simulator is good and mainted which is newly built.
The library is also provided with abundance of book.

What I didn’t like

The infrastructure has to be maintained such as building ,food etc.
There are dogs roaming on campus which has to be stictly prohibed and maintain cleaniness.

Remarks:

Compared to other marine college this college provide little more placement but we have to maintain a good cgpa above 8 and we also need a good pcm in 12 standard.For the admission we have to go through IMUCET exam and the CET exam of AMET.

EXPLORE FIRST BEFORE JOINING.

What I Liked

I like about the games and sports which is being provided which keeps us involved in this environment.
There is swimming pool also which helps us to learn the swimming

What I didn’t like

I dislike about the campus is the food and wifi connectivity.
The area of the rooms in the hostel is less.

Remarks:

For joining this college there was no interview or any exam. I directly payed 25000 and booked my seat. This college was suggested by one of my friend. For joining this college and BSC NS course we must atleast have 60% in our 12th. Then only we are eligible. Before joining we have to submit our medical fitness certificate.

What I Liked

The Faculties are all qualified and experienced persons with Exellent teaching skills.
Classrooms are equipped with projecters and good environment.

What I didn’t like

There are Lots of street dogs roaming around the campus.
Less Hygiene of places inside the campus.

Remarks:

I chose this college to pursue the Bachelors in Nautical Science to work as a crew in cargo ships there is no admission interviews no exam for getting admission in this college only you have to pay the fees.

Remarks:

I choose amet university because it is one of the best for the bsc Nautical science course and the placements here are good and the training is good. There will be online exam and interview before getting admission. Cutoff need should about 60% minimum And the English 12th mark should be above 50

What I Liked

Faculty , their are many departments to look after and to gain network. All you need is to maintain go conduct to get favours from faculty
To many departments are their to explore and many more things to learn

What I didn’t like

Even tho it's a university, still the students are atmosphere doesn't feel like a university
Less access to other activities and events

Remarks:

Placement before completing the course is one the most attractive thing in this university. You were given an opportunity to get placed before choosing the course itself . Also you will be having an ocean of chances to gain placement and DG uniform itself is the motivation to join this university

1 year journey in AMET UNIVERSITY

What I Liked

There are some teachers who are friendly and campus is fun,girls are good and if you've any relative or well known people as your senior then there will be no problem for you...
Most of the faculties are nothing but teach not even teach dictate what is in a book and write it on the board so have it mind

What I didn’t like

No proper labs for non dg courses but good labs for computer based courses
There should be good mess supervisor and should have good and nutritious menu for the hostel students

Remarks:

I came for Marine engineering but they didn't allow because I can't get the rank in IMU CET do I joined mechanical engineering and thinking for going in lateral Marine engineering,and they put me arrear in english,most of the students got arrear in english and EVS which is an computer based test,they told us that they don't have enough members in mechanical so they put arrear for some students indirectly to us.

Welcome to AMET University

What I Liked

I like college infrastructure because all the things are in the new condition .
Faculties are so much qualified so they will explain in so many ways.
Campus life is good because we can go anywhere on Sunday's. Specially AMET is surrounded by the beaches so it will enhance the environment.

What I didn’t like

College playing ground is not up to the mark.
Faculty are not available many times, as they are having hectic schedule.
In campus, we can go out of the campus only on Sundays.

Remarks:

AMET's infrastructure is good and their placement records is nearly 98%. There is a test which is conducted all over India that is IMUCET, that is for only those students who want to apply for DG courses, if you are applying for normal course like BBA, MBA etc for that it is not compulsory.

What I Liked

I like the club activities they provide with the college so that we can experience the out of campus experience too.

What I didn’t like

The thing I dislike is about the food as we all can relate it will never be same as our mom's cooking .

Remarks:

As I was interested in marine related studies I choose this college because this college provides jobs as soon as we have joined students are asked to attend the interview and being placed in various companies. Yes before attending we were asked to attend the group discussion and written test were also conducted.

Teaching staff is verry supportive. They are always there for us

What I didn’t like

Mess food is bad. They need to change the mess menu

First thing is college fees is verry affordable. And it's having good brand name in maritime field. For taking admission in this university you have to clear IMUCET. Then you have to give their test. If you clear test then you will be shortlisted for the university admission

What I Liked

Internship placement and the good campus
They are giving shoe in the library for extra learning

What I didn’t like

There no change in hostel and suffering for the hospital placement
Sometimes no teachers are comes to the class

Remarks:

This is a seperate university for a shipping in India and affordable. Good hostel and food weekly 4 days non-veg many number of students in college good staffs good teaching . They replace the problem and requirement of the students.
