Indian Maritime University (IMU) is a central university headquartered in Chennai, India. It was established in 2008 through the Indian Maritime University Act 2008. It is recognized by the UGC and approved by the AICTE. It is a hub for maritime education offering programs in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, Maritime Law, and Port and Shipping Management. In 2024, IMU Chennai Ranking by IIRF was 29th out of 50 colleges in the overall category, and 45th out of 46 colleges in the management category.

IMU Chennai offers a BTech in Marine Engineering as its flagship program.
