For admission to the Bachelor of Physical Education degree course (B.P.Ed.), candidates must meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

• A Bachelor's degree in any discipline with 50% marks and participation in Inter-college/Inter-Zonal/District/School competitions in sports and games recognized by AIU/IONSGFI/Government of India. or,
• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Education with 45% marks. or,
• A Bachelor's degree in any discipline with 45% marks and a compulsory elective subject of physical education. or,
• A Bachelor's degree in any discipline with 45% marks and participation in National/Inter-University/State competitions or securing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd position in Inter-college/Inter-Zonal/District/School competitions in sports and games recognized by AIU/IOA/SGFI/Government of India. or,
• Graduates with 45% marks and a minimum of three years of teaching experience, applicable to deputed in-service candidates, i.e., trained physical education teachers and coaches, subject to specified conditions.

Candidates will be chosen based on merit, adhering to the seat regulations set by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Annamalai University Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) Course Details

The Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) program focuses on developing a comprehensive understanding of physical education, sports science, and coaching methodologies. Through a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical training, students acquire the necessary skills to become proficient physical education teachers and sports professionals, with an emphasis on participation in various sports competitions at the inter-college, inter-zonal, district, or school levels.

Reservation of Seats: Seats for candidates from ST/SC/SCA/MBC/DNC/BC/BCM/OC communities will be reserved in accordance with the rules and regulations laid out by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Note: For B.P.Ed. program, the demand draft amounts are Rs. 300/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates and Rs. 600/- for others. The demand draft should be drawn in favor of The Registrar, Annamalai University, and payable at Annamalainagar/Chennai.
