Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) Admission 2026 is handled through the official admission website at admissions.mkuniversity.ac.in. MKU PG Selection Process
PG courses at MKU follow two admission categories. Category A courses require an entrance test conducted by the university. Category B courses are filled through graduation marks.
- MBA admission mainly depends on the TANCET 2026 score. TANCET-qualified students are ranked at the state level, and MKU takes part in TANCET MBA counselling.
- For most M.Sc and MA courses, selection is made through the university entrance test. GATE or NET holders may get preference in some science PG programmes.
- The entrance test centres are Madurai, Trichy, Chennai, Salem, Bangalore, Coimbatore, and Karaikudi.

MKU Ph.D Selection Process
Ph.D admission at MKU has two stages for students who are not exempted: a written entrance test and a research interview before the doctoral committee.
- The final decision also depends on the research topic and supervisor availability.
- MKU offers both full-time and part-time Ph.D modes. Part-time applicants must have at least 3 years of work experience.
- The Ph.D fee is INR 1.13 lakh to INR 1.14 lakh for the full programme.

Remarks:
Honestly, I chose this college mainly because it was within my budget, had a decent reputation, and the location was good for me. Some seniors from my school had also studied here and gave good feedback, so that helped. Also, it’s affiliated with a well-known university, so that added to the trust factor. For admission, I didn’t face any group discussion (GD) or personal interview (PI). The admission was purely based on merit—my 12th board marks. Some colleges do take entrance exams like CUET or state-level CET, but for this one, there wasn’t any written test or exam. Just fill out the application form, upload the documents, and wait for the merit list.
