Placement Experience:

The placement scenerio is not that good due to being a growing NLU. Still our campus was successful in brining firms like Trilegal on board for campus placement. The highest package offered here is 16 lakhs and the average package is 6 lakhs. the percentage of students getting placement is 20. My plan after getting the degree is to work with some Boutique Law firm.

Remarks:

I prepared for Common Law Admission Test for 2 months and was able to secure All India Rank of 1700. The best part of this university is the state it is in, i.e. Tamil Nadu. The crowd though is from Southern state mostly, but they are very welcoming. There are sufficient amount of opportunities provided by the university to the students if you are serious about the law career. Peers, professors, and seniors are also very helpful. The only disadvantage we have is location. Trichy is a tier 2 city, though with a decent connectivity, but we face a certain level of challenges in terms of receiving funds from the Government and inviting firms for placement opportunities.

Placement Experience:

About internships, there is an internship and placement cell that facilitates the students with internship opportunities. As for placements, there is no campus interview, but there are pre-placement offers that firms like Trilegal and LKS give exclusively to students from the University. The selection is based on the discretion of the firms. Internships can be availed through the Internships and Placements cell and the students can apply and avail internships independently.

Remarks:

To begin with, I had an intense passion for pursuing law since high school. I chose this college mainly because of the fascination that I would be able to get a quality education in proximity, as I hail from Tamilnadu. The rich infrastructure and a diverse social bubble make this university a worthy place to learn in peace and have fun at the same time! Admission is provided based on the points scored in the CLAT exam as this university is one of the few national law universities in the country. The cut-off to secure admission is around 50 points in the CLAT examination. There are no interviews or any admission tests that are conducted specifically to get admitted. The sole criterion remains the CLAT examination. To register for the exam, visit the CLAT website. On passing the examination and getting selected in the counseling, you need to pay 20k as an admission fee. The first-year fee is 2,23,000. After that its 1,93,000 excluding all the one-time payments such as the Moot fee.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell works hard to bring companies and our seniors have been placed in many of the leading law firms in the country. Since this is relatively a new university the alumni base isn't so strong but the seniors are very helpful. There have been a few recruiters from Chennai(mostly litigation-based law firms) but they offer a decent package for the industry standards.

Remarks:

To get into any National Law University you need to write CLAT(it's an all-India exam for Law) then after that your counseling starts and you are allowed to a university based on your marks(your preferences are also taken into consideration). The cut-off for the general category is usually between AIR 1500-1600. You can go to CLAT coaching or just buy a CLAT book and start preparing on your own(like I did) the questions consist of general knowledge, aptitude, legal reasoning, English, and Current affairs.
