Applied for many internships but most companies only taking students in their 3rd year. I am currently a research intern in Samsung R&D. This is the only internship opportunity that comes on campus which is not paid. There is no meaning to do the internship if it is just for the completion certificate.

I have done a Research internship at NIT Rourkela and some of my friends were doing internships at Paypal, Coinbase, Google, Microsoft, etc. The roles offered were SDE, Data Analyst, and DevOps. Some were even doing Research internships in the US and UK.
