Sapthagiri NPS University Courses and Fees

More than 50 programmes are available through the university's four schools. Medical education extends from MBBS to super-specialty degrees. The engineering school developed from the institution founded in 2001 and runs AICTE-approved programmes that were earlier affiliated with VTU and are now under SNPSU. BE tuition totals range from INR 9.40 Lakhs to INR 11.00 Lakhs, while the two-year MBA costs INR 4.00 Lakhs.

Sapthagiri NPS University Admission Process

Admission depends on the chosen course. Medical, engineering, nursing, allied health, and management programmes use their stated entrance examination or merit requirements. The usual process includes checking eligibility, taking the required test, completing counselling or applying to the university, verifying documents, paying the fee, and reporting for admission.

1. Choose a programme and check its academic and entrance examination requirements.
2. Take the required examination, such as NEET UG, NEET PG, NEET SS, COMEDK UGET, KCET, JEE Main, GATE, Karnataka PGCET, CAT, XAT, or CMAT.
3. Register for the relevant counselling process or submit an application to SNPSU when merit or direct admission applies.
4. Complete choice filling, seat allotment, and document verification where counselling is required.
5. Pay the applicable fee and report to the university to confirm admission.

MBBS

A valid NEET UG result is compulsory for MBBS. KEA conducts centralised online counselling for government and management quota seats in Karnataka. Eligible NEET-qualified students may also enquire with the university about direct Management Quota admission.

• Eligibility: Students need at least 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at 10+2. The requirement is 40% for SC, ST, and OBC-NCL applicants. They must be at least 17 years old when admitted.
• Reservation: KEA Karnataka fills state quota seats according to NEET UG rank.
• Selection stages: The process covers NEET UG ranking, KEA registration, choice filling, allotment, document checks, fee payment, and reporting to the college.
• Bond: Students taking Karnataka government seats must complete the rural service obligation after graduation.

PG Medical (MD / MS / DM / M.Ch)

MD and MS applicants qualify through NEET PG, while DM and M.Ch applicants use NEET SS. Karnataka PGCET counselling follows. MD specialities include Dermatology, Radiology, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, and Anaesthesiology, among others. MS choices include General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, and ENT.

• MD/MS eligibility: Applicants must hold an MBBS, finish the one-year rotating internship, and have a valid NEET PG score.
• DM/M.Ch eligibility: A relevant parent-speciality MD/MS and a valid NEET SS score are required.

BE (Engineering)

Students may enter BE through COMEDK UGET or KCET, with KCET serving Karnataka residents. JEE Main scores are also accepted. The programmes operate under SNPSU within the AICTE-approved framework.

• Eligibility: A minimum of 45% in PCM at 10+2 is needed.
• Selection: Admission uses a COMEDK UGET rank, KCET rank, or JEE Main score, followed by online counselling and verification of documents.
• Specialisations: Choices include CSE, CSE with AI and Data Science, CSE with AI, Cyber Security, Robotics and AI, ECE, and EEE.
• Lateral entry: Diploma holders may use KCET lateral entry to seek direct admission into the second year of BE.

MBA and Management Programmes

The MBA has six specialisations, including Hospital and Health Care Management. Applicants may use Karnataka PGCET, CAT, XAT, or CMAT scores.

• MBA eligibility: A bachelor's degree with at least 50% is required.
• MBA specialisations: The options are Business Analytics, Financial Management, Hospital and Health Care Management, HR Management, Marketing Management, and Operations and Supply Chain Management.
• BBA, BCA, and B.Com eligibility: Applicants must pass 10+2 in the relevant stream.

Nursing and Allied Health

B.Sc Nursing selection uses the NEET UG score and follows INC rules. BPT, GNM, Cardiac Care Technology, Anesthesia Technology, and Radiology Technology admit students through merit or NEET UG performance. Karnataka State Nursing Council and INC guidelines govern the nursing programmes.

Sapthagiri NPS University Placements and Career Outcomes

Career routes differ by field. Students in engineering, management, and computing can join campus recruitment, while medical and health science graduates may prepare for NEET PG, enter government service, or seek work in private hospitals.

More than 200 companies are reported to participate in campus hiring for engineering and management students. Recruiters named in university placement communications include Microsoft, IBM, Bosch Rexroth, and Schneider, along with other IT and manufacturing companies. SNPSU reports 100% placement for eligible candidates. NIRF placement figures are not available because the university, which gained its status in 2023, is not currently in the NIRF ranked list.

Sapthagiri NPS University Scholarships

Eligible students may seek merit scholarships, reserved-category support, and fee concessions. Karnataka State Scholarship and central government National Scholarship Portal schemes apply to qualifying students. High ranks in NEET UG, COMEDK UGET, or KCET may also lead to an institutional merit concession during admission.

Sapthagiri NPS University Campus and Infrastructure

The integrated campus at Chikkasandra, Hesarghatta Main Road, contains four academic schools, research laboratories, a hospital, hostels, and student support facilities. Public transport and the Hesarghatta Main Road corridor connect this north-west Bengaluru location with the city.

Sapthagiri Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre is an NMC-recognised teaching hospital linked directly to the medical school. Its clinical departments provide practical training for students pursuing MBBS, MD, MS, DM, and M.Ch. The hospital also functions as a tertiary care referral centre for nearby areas.

Facilities for engineering include laboratories supporting AI, robotics, cybersecurity, VLSI, and ECE. Allied health students use dedicated Cardiac Care and Radiology laboratories. The campus also provides a library, sports complex, and separate accommodation for male and female students. Hostel charges range from INR 1.10 Lakhs to INR 1.60 Lakhs per year.

Sapthagiri NPS University vs JSS University vs Ramaiah University

Students exploring medicine and engineering at private institutions in Karnataka may compare SNPSU with JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research in Mysuru and Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences in Bengaluru. Each institution has medical and engineering components, but their accreditation, history, location, and NIRF position differ.

JSSAHER has the strongest listed NIRF position, a NAAC A++ grade, and a longer history as a deemed university. SNPSU combines a Bengaluru location with NAAC A+ accreditation. Ramaiah University is also based in Bengaluru, holds a NAAC A grade, and is an established name in Karnataka medical education.
