Candidates having qualified for the M.B.B.S degree and obtained full registration, having completed their compulsory rotating residential internship before the starting date of the courses, are eligible to apply for the postgraduate diploma and degree courses.
Candidates having qualified with a postgraduate diploma, may also apply for the postgraduate degree (MS/MD) course in the same subject. Post Diploma candidates with a diploma in the same subject will undergo 2 years of training for the degree.

For MBBS, applicants must have at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (or Botany or Zoology) and English. Candidates must also have at least 140/200 marks in these subjects. For BC/MBC/SC/ST/OPH, candidates must have 40% marks.
For the CMC Vellore BPT program, candidates must have passed Class 12 from the CBSE board or equivalent with a minimum of 50 percent in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
For DM and M.Ch, candidates must have an MD/DNB degree in the relevant specialization from a recognized university.
Non-Indian nationals must obtain a "No Objection Certificate" from the Government of India.
Candidates must possess an MBBS Degree from a University recognized by the MCI.
