Bannari Amman Institute of Technology (BIT), established in 1996, is an autonomous engineering institute in Tamil Nadu. It is affiliated with Anna University, Chennai, and approved by AICTE. It is graded ‘A+’ by NAAC. According to BIT Rankings, India Today placed it at the 58th position out of 253 engineering colleges in 2024, while Anna University ranked it 26th out of 355 colleges in the engineering category in the same year.

BIT offers BTech as its flagship course. To be eligible for admission, candidates need to secure 45% minimum marks (40% in the case of reserved categories) in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. The final selection will be based on the JEE Mains exam score or TNEA counseling. The BIT cutoff for TNEA 2024 for general category Round 1 BTech ranged from 5228-26630. The BIT fee for BTech is INR 3 lakhs for all specializations.

BIT Placements 2024 saw around 304 companies visiting the campus for recruitment and placing 1175 students. Thoughtworks offered a package of INR 11.1 LPA, whereas Informatica offered a package of INR 11.5 LPA. Some of the recruiters include Amazon, Aquera, Avasoft, Esko, Juspay, Presidio, Thoughtworks, Bosch, Britannia, Ford, Decathlon, Capgemini, Infosys, etc.
