SKCET Coimbatore Admission Dates 2027

The next admission process is expected to start with TNEA registration for the 2027-28 academic batch. The schedule remains tentative until it is confirmed by the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions authority and Anna University.

SKCET Coimbatore Courses and Fees

Students can choose from 14 B.E and B.Tech programmes, one Integrated B.Tech + M.Tech course, nine M.E specialisations, five MBA specialisations and an MCA programme. The Tamil Nadu Fee Fixation Committee regulates the general-category fee structure, and every B.E and B.Tech branch has the same fee.

Along with CSE, ECE, EEE, Mechanical and Civil Engineering, the undergraduate choices include Mechatronics, Internet of Things, Cyber Security, AI and Machine Learning, Computer Science and Design, and Computer Science and Business Systems. The Integrated B.Tech + M.Tech in CSE provides a direct 5-year route to both degrees without requiring a separate postgraduate entrance examination.

SKCET Coimbatore Admission Process

Undergraduate engineering seats are divided between two admission routes. TNEA government counselling fills 65% of the B.E and B.Tech seats. SKCET admits students to the remaining 35% management-quota seats directly on merit.

B.E and B.Tech Admission

Applicants must complete Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and obtain at least 45% in aggregate. A separate written entrance test is not needed. TNEA prepares the rank from Class 12 PCM marks and scales the result to 200 using this formula: Mathematics x 1.5 + Physics x 1.0 + Chemistry x 0.5.

1. For government-quota admission, register on the official TNEA portal and add the preferred SKCET branches during choice filling.
2. TNEA conducts three allotment rounds. The allotted seat depends on the applicant's rank, category and available branch seats.
3. For management-quota admission, apply directly to SKCET and submit the Class 12 mark sheets.

M.E, MBA and MCA Admission

For M.E admission, students need a relevant B.E or B.Tech degree with at least 50% and a valid TANCET or GATE score. Seat allocation takes place through Anna University CEETA-PG counselling. MBA applicants must hold any bachelor's degree with 50% and qualify through TANCET, CAT, MAT, CMAT or XAT before taking part in Tamil Nadu MBA government counselling. MCA admission requires a graduation degree, Mathematics at Class 12 or degree level, and a TANCET score.

SKCET Coimbatore Cutoff

The required TNEA rank changes according to the admission year, category, programme and seat availability. For General category applicants, the CSE closing-rank range in 2024 was 5,640 to 7,942. Mechatronics, IoT and Cyber Security generally closed at higher rank numbers than CSE.

SKCET Coimbatore Placements

SKCET's Training and Placement Cell worked with more than 240 companies during the 2025 placement season. More than 1,265 students received placements, and the department-wise placement rate was between 90.9% and 98%. CSE and CSBS recorded the highest offer of INR 47 LPA, while the overall average package was INR 6.2 LPA.

Recruiters include TCS, Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro, Zoho, HPE, Capgemini, Amazon, Hexaware, Larsen and Toubro Infotech, Bosch, Tech Mahindra and Accenture. Most offers come from technology service companies. Product companies based in Coimbatore, including Zoho, also recruit CSE and IT graduates for competitive roles.

SKCET Coimbatore Rankings

In NIRF Engineering 2025, SKCET entered India's top 100 engineering institutions at rank 100. The college also holds NAAC Grade A++, the highest accreditation grade awarded by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.

SKCET Coimbatore Scholarships

After joining SKCET, eligible students may apply for scholarship schemes run by the Tamil Nadu and central governments. Benefits depend on category, domicile and family-income rules. The Tamil Nadu SC/ST Scholarship provides full tuition-fee reimbursement to eligible students.

SKCET Coimbatore Campus and Infrastructure

SKCET occupies a campus in Kuniamuthur, an educational and residential part of Coimbatore with access to the city centre. Its academic facilities include modern teaching blocks, department-specific computer laboratories, workshops, a central library and an innovation lab.

Students considering private engineering colleges in Coimbatore with similar TNEA closing-rank ranges often compare SKCET with KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology (KPRIET) and Sri Krishna College of Technology (SKCT). Each institution is located in Coimbatore, approved by AICTE and affiliated with Anna University.

Among these three colleges, SKCET has the highest NAAC grade and is the only one listed in the NIRF Engineering 2025 top 100. All three use the TNEA admission system and charge the same regulated B.E and B.Tech fee. KPRIET and SKCT provide similar branch choices and comparable placement results.
