B.Tech Admission

For B.Tech, students must qualify JEE Main Paper 1 and must have passed, or be appearing in, Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. JEE Main cut-off percentiles differ by category, branch, and counselling round. Computer Science and Engineering usually needs a higher cut-off than core branches such as Mining Engineering and Metallurgical Engineering.

  • Eligibility: Students must pass 10+2 or an equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects. They need at least 75% aggregate marks in PCM, or 65% for SC/ST categories. Age rules follow JoSAA norms.
  • JoSAA process: Students register on the JoSAA portal, arrange and lock their choices, take part in seat allotment rounds, and then report to the institute for document checking and fee payment.
  • JCECEB process: Jharkhand domicile students can use their JEE Main score to apply for state quota seats through JCECEB counselling.

B.Tech Lateral Entry

Diploma holders from relevant engineering branches can apply for direct second-year B.Tech admission through JCECEB. Selection is done on the basis of diploma aggregate percentage.

M.Tech Admission

M.Tech applicants need a valid GATE score in the related discipline. Students must have a B.Tech or B.E. degree in the relevant field with at least 60% marks, or 55% for SC/ST candidates. Shortlisted students are called for institute-level counselling or an interview.

Ph.D. Admission

Ph.D. admission is handled through an institute-level entrance test and interview. Applicants must have an M.Tech or M.Sc degree with at least 60% marks, or 55% for SC/ST candidates. GATE-qualified and NET/SET-qualified applicants may get relaxation in the entrance process.
