Established in 1984, Kongu Engineering College Erode is affiliated with Anna University. The college is AICTE and NBA approved, besides being NAAC accredited. In 2024, The Week and Outlook ranked KEC Erode at 32 and 80 for BTech, respectively.
 

KEC Erode BE is offered in nine specialisations. The candidate should have scored 45% in 10+2. Physics, Maths and Chemistry should be mandatory subjects. Eligible candidates are selected based on Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions Exam Scores. 1320 seats is the total intake of this program. The total fees for this four-year program is Rs 2.20 Lakhs.
Besides BTech, KEC Erode courses include BTech, BSc, MBA, ME, MCA, MTech, MSc and PhD.

The college is home to some of the best facilities. These include sports facilities, hostels and accommodation, transport, dispensary, WiFi facility, ambulance, food court, RO purifier, an amenity centre, KVB bank & ATM, post office, and 24x7 water supply.

KEC Erode Placements 2024 concluded recently. Around 1325 students were placed this year. The total number of jobs offered were 1612. INR 21 LPA was the highest CTC offered, while the lowest CTC offered was recorded at INR 6 LPA. 310 companies participated in the placement drive. Some of these included Saint Gobain, Toshiba, TATA Elxsi, Licious, Accenture, JSW, Ford, and HDFC.
