Madras Institute of Technology (MIT) is a prestigious private engineering institute located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, established in 1949 by C. Rajam. It is affiliated with Anna University, Chennai, and is approved by AICTE. MIT is accredited by NBA and has received an A++ grade from NAAC. According to the MIT Chennai Ranking 2024, it was ranked 2nd out of 355 engineering colleges by Anna University.

MIT Chennai offers BTech as its flagship program. To be eligible for admission, candidates must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 45% aggregate (40% for reserved category) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. The final selection is based on TNEA counseling. The TNEA cutoff 2024 for the general category in Round 1 was 2175 for BTech CSE and 5048 for BTech ECE. The total course fee for BTech is INR 1.39 lakhs.

MIT Chennai Placement 2022-23 saw participation from over 150 companies. Among the placements, 41 companies offered a salary of above INR 10 LPA, 59 companies offered salaries between INR 6-10 LPA, and 53 companies offered salaries between INR 3-6 LPA. Some of the top recruiters included VISA, Morgan Stanley, Appian, Walmart, BNY Mellon Technology, Wells Fargo, and Oracle.
