Walchand College of Engineering, established in 1947, is affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur. AICTE approved, this public college is NAAC and NBA Accredited. WCE Sangli Admissions are entrance-based.
 

WCE Sangli's flagship course is the four-year BTech. It has seven specialisations. The candidate should have qualified Class 12th, with 45% marks. Selection is based on MHT-CET/JEE Mains scores and a Centralised Admission Process. The Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra, conducts this. The total intake of this program is 546 seats. The total fees of this course is Rs 3.39 Lakhs.
Additionally, the college offers other engineering programs like BTech Lateral, MTech, and Polytechnic.

Scholarships at WCE Sangli are granted on various criteria. These include merit-based awards, government scholarships for SC/ST/OBC students (covering full or partial tuition fees), and fee waivers for economically weaker students. The college awards sports scholarships, with benefits like fee concessions. Additionally, scholarships are granted to minority and economically weaker sections, following government guidelines.

WEC Sangli Placements for BTech witnessed the participation of renowned organisations like Accenture, Cognizant, Infosys, Mindtree, BOSCH, Paytm, Amazon,and Phonepe. A total of 363 students were successfully placed. 422 jobs were offered, which included 59 dream offers. The highest CTC offered was INR 43 LPA, while the average CTC for the batch was recorded at INR 9.21 LPA. The median package offered to the students was INR 8 LPA.
