CMAT Exam Cities and Test Centres

A CMAT exam city is the location you choose in the application. The test centre is the specific building allotted to you. Selecting a city does not let you choose a particular college, computer lab or street address.

The 2026 application list contained 131 city entries. The state-wise list below reproduces those choices as a reference for 2027 applicants. The new-cycle list has not been announced. Some entries combine nearby locations, such as Mumbai/Navi Mumbai or Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar; these are single entries in the list, not separate choices.

Your exact venue is printed on the CMAT admit card. A city-intimation slip gives advance city information but does not replace the admit card.

The combined city names above follow the application list. Choose the available entry in the form rather than assuming that every district or nearby town has a centre.

How Many Cities Can You Choose?

The 2026 application allowed four city preferences. Put the most practical location first, followed by alternatives you can reach. NTA tried to allot cities in the submitted order, but it could assign a different city for administrative or logistical reasons.

The city-selection instructions asked candidates to choose their own or neighbouring cities in their state of residence rather than distant locations in other states. Cities with very few applicants could be merged. The final allotment was not guaranteed to be one of the four preferences.

Before submitting the CMAT application form, check that your order reflects the travel you can actually manage. A familiar venue in one city is not an assured centre allocation.

City Intimation Slip vs Admit Card

Book travel against the allotted city, then check the exact address when the admit card is available. If a city entry includes two adjoining locations, the centre address matters more than the broad city label. The journey to Navi Mumbai, for example, may differ from a journey to another part of the Mumbai region.

Carry the admit card to the centre. The city slip, application confirmation page and payment receipt do not grant entry in its place.

Can You Change the CMAT Exam Centre?

The 2026 rules treated NTA's city and centre allotment as final and did not allow requests for a different centre after allotment. A candidate could not appear at another centre, date or shift simply because it was more convenient.

An application correction window is different from a centre-transfer request. Only the fields enabled in that window can be edited. A correction notice should not be read as permission to change every submitted field or an already allotted venue.

If there is an error in your personal details on the admit card, contact NTA with the application number and the exact discrepancy. That is a record-correction issue, not a request to choose a new test centre.

Centre Address and Reporting Instructions

Match the centre name and full address, including the locality and PIN code. A similarly named institution in the same city may not be your allotted venue. Read the reporting time and gate-closing instruction printed on your admit card rather than relying on a generic exam-start time.
