CMAT Cutoff 2027 at NIA Pune

NIA Pune lists an expected CMAT 2027 shortlisting cutoff of 95 percentile for General and EWS candidates, and 90 percentile for NC-OBC, SC, ST and PwD candidates. These figures appear with its PGDM Insurance and Risk Management admission information for the 2027-29 batch.

These are the institute's expected thresholds for entering the selection process. A final admission offer also depends on academic marks, group discussion, interview and work experience. The same expected percentile should not be treated as the last admitted candidate's score.

NIA accepts CAT 2026, XAT 2027 or CMAT 2027 for this intake. Its application deadline is 15 March 2027. The college application is separate from the NTA exam form.

Welingkar CMAT Cutoff: 2026-28 Batch

Welingkar published the following CMAT 2026 percentiles for shortlisting to its PGDM selection process. The table covers its general merit list for the 2026-28 batch. The campus and programme change the threshold.

For example, 80 percentile met the published threshold for Bengaluru PGDM, but Mumbai PGDM required 85. At Mumbai, the same 80 percentile matched the Retail, Media and Entertainment, and Business Design thresholds. Healthcare and Rural Management had a lower threshold of 70.

These are PGDM shortlisting figures. Welingkar's MMS admission follows a different route, so an MMS CAP cutoff cannot be substituted for one of these PGDM values. The 2026 figures provide a programme-wise reference for 2027 applicants; they are not new-cycle cutoffs.

Does CMAT Have a Common Category-Wise Cutoff?

There is no single CMAT cutoff that admits every General, OBC, SC or ST candidate to all participating colleges. NTA conducts the exam and releases scores. Each institution decides its admission threshold and selection procedure.

NIA's 2027 table groups EWS with General at 95 percentile, while NC-OBC, SC, ST and PwD appear in the 90-percentile group. Welingkar's table above is a general-merit shortlisting table. Applying one college's category relaxation to another college would give the wrong answer.

For an allotment-based admission, the course, round and seat category also belong with the closing value. A general PGDM shortlist and a reserved-category MBA/MMS allotment are different comparisons. NIBM CMAT Cutoff: Previous Admission Route

NIBM's 2026-28 PGDM Banking and Financial Services prospectus lists CAT 2025 or GMAT for screening. CMAT was an accepted route in the older 2025-27 shortlist. That older cutoff is not an admission route for the later batch.

The old table distinguishes OBC from NC-OBC: its OBC threshold was the same as Open, while NC-OBC had a lower value. Keep those labels intact when comparing a historical score. Neither the category figures nor the old CMAT acceptance should be carried forward to 2027 without a new admission rule.

CMAT Marks and Percentile Are Different

CMAT had 400 maximum marks in 2026. A score of 280 therefore equals 70% of the maximum marks: 280 divided by 400, multiplied by 100. It does not mean 70 percentile.

Percentile describes your position among the candidates who appeared. NTA's definition counts candidates with a score equal to or below yours. The marks needed for a particular percentile depend on that exam's score distribution, so 95 percentile cannot be converted into a fixed 2027 raw score.

When a college publishes a cutoff in percentile, compare it with the percentile on your scorecard. Use raw marks to assess answers and mock performance. The CMAT score and percentile guide covers the distinction; past-year estimates are not a substitute for the result.

What Happens After You Meet the Cutoff?

At NIA, the entrance test contributes 50 of the 100 marks in the admission merit calculation. The remaining marks come from academics, GD, PI and work experience. A candidate with a higher CMAT percentile can therefore finish below another candidate in the college's final selection.

NIA converts CMAT and XAT percentiles to their CAT-equivalent level using its stated equivalence before assigning the entrance-test component. Simply multiplying your CMAT percentile by 0.5 does not reproduce that component. Work experience of more than one year is considered for its work-experience weightage.

For PGDM Insurance and Risk Management, NIA requires a recognised bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks. Final-year applicants must furnish results by 30 June 2027. The upper age limit on 1 July 2027 is 28 years for General, EWS and OBC-NC applicants, and 30 years for SC, ST and PwD applicants.
