National Testing Agency has scheduled the CMAT 2026 exam date on January 2026. Thus, candidates planning to register for the test must have a valid graduation degree or equivalent from a recognised university. The CMAT registration fee is INR 2000 for general male candidates and INR 1000 for reserved categories, including female and transgender candidates.

  • Over 70,000 candidates apply for the CMAT exam every year.
  • In CMAT 2025, 76,946 candidates registered for the exam, out of which 65,325 candidates appeared.
  • CMAT exam is a computer-based test (CBT) conducted over 300 test centres in different cities of India.
  • More than 1,300 MBA colleges in India accept the CMAT score.

The CMAT exam is conducted in 2 shifts and the candidates get 3 hours to solve 400 questions. CMAT is India's third most popular MBA entrance exam after CAT and XAT and its difficulty level is moderate compared to them. Thus, you can easily score higher marks in CMAT than in other MBA entrance exams. A score of 340+ would be sufficient to get a 100 percentile while a score above 280 to get the 99+ percentile in the CMAT exam.

What Is CMAT?

The Common Management Admission Test or CMAT is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBA/PGDM courses offered by all AICTE-approved institutions. Earlier, CMAT used to be conducted by AICTE but the NTA took over in 2019.

Am I Eligible For CMAT 2026?

Applicants need to meet the following academic requirements to be eligible for the CMAT 2026:

Education
  • Must have a graduation degree or equivalent from a recognised university.
  • Final-year graduation students are also eligible to apply.
Score
  • No minimum score percentage criteria in graduation for the CMAT exam.
  • Only passing marks are required.
  • However, MBA colleges accepting CMAT scores may have minimum score criteria of 50 per cent and 45 per cent.
Age Limit There is no upper age limit for CMAT.

How To Do CMAT Registration 2026?

The CMAT registration form will be available on the official website by the last week of March 2026. But first, you will be required to fill out the application form by creating a login ID on the website. Now, log in again using your application number and password to fill out the form. Upload the scanned images of the photo and signature in the correct format and dimension.

How To Download CMAT Admit Card?

CMAT admit card is expected to be released in May 2026 by NTA on the official website. Candidates can download their admit card by using their login credentials. Then, click on the “Download” option to download the Admit Card.

How To Download CMAT Answer Key?

The answer key in the form of a response sheet will be released by the NTA after 5 days of the exam at the CMAT official website. Candidates can download the answer key using their login credentials. After logging in, locate the 'CMAT Answer Key' link on the dashboard to download it.

Candidates will get the facility to challenge the answer key when the objection window is open. However, they have to fill out an online form along with the supporting documents to prove their claim. Then the answer key will be revised if any objection is found to be valid. The final answer key will be prepared based on the objections received.

How To Check CMAT Result?

The CMAT result is expected to be released by NTA in June 2026 on the official website. To download the scorecard, click on the 'CMAT 2026 scorecard' tab and enter your login credentials. After clicking on the ‘Submit’ option you can download your scorecard. Note that, the scorecard will be available on the official website for a limited time.

What Is CMAT 2026 Admission Process?

The NTA does not conduct any centralised selection process for the qualified candidates. Instead, the participating institutes decide their method of shortlisting the candidates with Group Discussion/ Personal Interviews or Written Ability Tests.
