The CMAT registration process involves creating a login ID, completing the application form, and paying the fees. The exam fee is INR 2,000 for General male candidates and INR 1,000 for female and reserved category candidates. 

  • Candidates can apply for CMAT 2026 with a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institute.
  • You must have a minimum score of 50% (45% for reserved category candidates) to be eligible for CMAT registration.
  • No restrictions on the age and number of attempts for the CMAT exam. 

Every year, over 70,000 candidates register for the CMAT exam. Based on the previous year’s analysis, a total of 71,490 candidates had registered for CMAT 2025. However, only 52,327 registered candidates appeared for the exam.

If you want to appear for the CMAT exam for admission to MBA courses, you must visit the NTA-CMAT website, register, and fill out the CMAT application form. You must pay a CMAT registration fee of Rs 2000 for general male candidates and Rs 1000 for female and other reserved category candidates to complete the process.

CMAT 2026: Eligibility Criteria

The CMAT exam is one of India’s most popular entrance exams for PG management courses. You must fulfil the CMAT eligibility criteria 2026 before starting the registration process.

  • Nationality: Only Indian Citizens can apply for CMAT 2026.
  • Age limit: No age limit for candidates.
  • Academic Qualifications: You must have a 3-year Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized university. Final-year students can apply for CMAT.
    • You may have at least 5 years of relevant managerial/ supervisory experience for admission to Executive PGDM courses.
  • Minimum marks: There is no minimum graduation score requirement for CMAT 2026.
    • Colleges that accept CMAT scores prefer a minimum 50% score (45% for reserved category candidates) for admission.
  • There are no limits to the number of CMAT exam attempts taken by a candidate.

CMAT 2026 Reservations Policy

You must know the CMAT reservation policy applicable to colleges accepting CMAT scores to analyze your chances better.

  • Private institutions may have a different set of CMAT reservations.
  • State Government-run or aided institutions follow the State Government’s CMAT reservation policies.

How To Do CMAT Registration 2026?

Keep all the required documents handy and have a steady internet connection to avoid disruptions. Below are the steps to follow while CMAT registration 2026 online:

Step 1: Generate CMAT 2026 Login Credentials

You can start the online CMAT registration with generating a unique application number and password for candidates to log in to the application portal.

  • Visit the official website for the CMAT 2026 exams.nta.ac.in.
  • Click on “Fill Online Application Form
  • Go to “New Registration
  • Read the following instructions and processes.
  • Download the Information Bulletin
  • Select “Click here to Proceed
  • Enter all the necessary information:
    • Personal details
    • Contact details
    • Create password
    • Security pin
  • Submit the application form.

Note down the system-generated application number and password for logging into the application portal for further process.

Points to remember:

  • Fill out the CMAT Application Form 2026 carefully to avoid mistakes and rejection.
  • While creating the password, remember that it must have
    • 8 to 13 characters
    • At least one uppercase alphabet, one lowercase letter, one numerical value, and one special character.
  • If there is a mistake in the CMAT 2026 registration details, go to “Edit Registration Form” to make the changes.

Step 2: Fill CMAT 2026 Application Form

Candidates must then log in to fill CMAT Application Form with the system-generated application number and the set password.

  • Fill in the required fields like
    • Personal details
    • Academic qualifications
    • Work experience
  • Choose at least four exam city options from the list of CMAT Exam Centers.

Step 3: Scan And Upload Necessary Documents For CMAT 2026

Candidates need to scan and upload the following documents:

  • Photograph
  • Signature.

Step 4: CMAT 2026 Application Fees Payment

You must pay the CMAT Registration Fee to complete the CMAT Registration 2026. You can pay it in the following modes:

  • Online: You can pay the CMAT registration fee via
    • Credit card
    • Debit card
    • Net banking
    • UPI
  • Cash: You can also pay the CMAT registration fee in Cash through SBI. Here are the steps:
    • Generate E-Challan.
    • Fill in the bank information
    • Reach the nearest SBI branch.
    • Deposit cash at least 2 days before the last date of CMAT Registration 2026.
    • Collect the bank copy of the payment.

You must pay the correct amount of the CMAT 2026 registration fee based on your category. Check the CMAT registration fee for different categories of candidates below:

CMAT 2026 Application Form Correction

If you want to edit your application form, you can do so in the Form Correction Window after the last date of CMAT registration. Here are the steps for CMAT Application Form correction:

  • Go to the official NTA-CMAT 2026 website.
  • Click on “Correction Link for CMAT 2026”.
  • Log in with your application number, passwords, and captcha.
  • Click on “Edit Application Form”.
  • Make the necessary corrections and reupload the required documents.
  • Click “Submit” to finish the process of CMAT application form correction.

Guidelines For CMAT Registration 2026

CMAT has a lot of candidates registering for the examination. To have a smooth registration process, keep the following CMAT Registration Guidelines in mind:

  • Stable Internet Connection: Have a strong internet connection to avoid disruptions or loss of data while filling out the CMAT 2026 Application Form.
  • Specific Web Browsers: To avoid technical difficulties try using the following browsers:
    • Google Chrome

    • Internet Explorer.

CMAT Application Portal allows you to change your password if necessary. If you forget your password, follow the steps below to reset your password for CMAT registration:

  • Go to the official CMAT 2026 website.
  • Click on “Forgot Password”.
  • Enter the registered email address.
  • Check your Email for the Password Reset Link.
  • Open the password reset window and create a new password.
  • Follow the instructions mentioned in the link.

Ques. What is the mode of the CMAT exam?
