CMAT Result Date

The CMAT 2027 result date has not been announced. NTA's tentative calendar lists the exam for 7 February 2027. The previous cycle's result was declared on 17 February 2026, after the 25 January examination.

The challenge window came before the result. NTA used the final answer key to prepare the scores, so a score calculated from an earlier provisional key could differ from the final marks.

How to Download the CMAT Scorecard

NTA provides the scorecard through the CMAT result login. The 2026 login asks for the examination, application number, password and case-sensitive security PIN. It does not ask you to calculate a score or enter a predicted rank.

1. Open the CMAT result link from the NTA CMAT portal.
2. Select the examination shown in the result login.
3. Enter your application number, password and the security PIN displayed on screen.
4. Open the result and download the scorecard.

If you have forgotten the password, use the recovery option on that login. Enter the application number for the same exam cycle; a previous-year account or a college application number is not the CMAT result credential.

The 2026 scorecards were issued online, not sent by post. Keep the downloaded scorecard for the institutes or admission authority to which you apply.

CMAT Marks, Percentile and Merit

For 2026, the scorecard contained marks and the corresponding percentile scores. Marks come from the final scoring rules. A percentile describes performance relative to other candidates. These are different measures even when both appear as numbers on the scorecard.

For example, 240 out of 400 is 60% of the maximum marks. It does not mean a 60 percentile. The percentile also depends on the score distribution of the candidates who appeared. The CMAT score-versus-percentile guide explains that comparison with worked examples.

CMAT 2026 was held in one shift. NTA therefore reported the marks with their corresponding percentile scores. The bulletin also describes a multi-shift procedure, but that should not be read as proof that multiple shifts were held in 2026.

How Does CMAT Handle Equal Scores?

The 2026 rules gave candidates with the same score the same merit number. Within an equal-score group, candidates were listed by date of birth, with the older candidate first. The next merit number skipped the positions occupied by the tie.

If two candidates share merit 2, the next candidate receives merit 4, not merit 3. The date-of-birth ordering within that group does not turn the shared merit into two different ranks.

An institute or counselling authority may publish its own admission merit list using its selection rules. That admission list is separate from the CMAT examination merit. The CMAT merit-list guide explains the distinction.

CMAT Result 2026: Attendance and Category-Wise Data

NTA recorded 53,453 registrations and 41,872 appearances in CMAT 2026. The examination was conducted in 110 cities at 259 centres. The reported 78.33% is attendance among registered candidates, not a pass percentage.

The appeared total included 19,905 female candidates, 21,966 male candidates and one third-gender candidate. NTA separately recorded 107 appeared PwD/PwBD candidates; they are already included in the category totals and must not be added again.

These figures describe participation. They do not show how many candidates secured admission, which depends on institution applications, eligibility, cutoffs and subsequent selection.

Can CMAT Results Be Rechecked?

The 2026 rules did not allow result re-evaluation or rechecking. Answer-key objections belonged to the notified challenge window before the result. NTA did not accept answer-key grievances after declaring the result.

When comparing an earlier calculation with the scorecard, use the final key and the rule for any dropped or revised question. A provisional answer-key total is not necessarily the final score.

What Happens After the CMAT Result?

Institutes decide the programmes for which they accept CMAT, their cutoff, application deadline and selection process. Some routes include an interview or other assessment; centralised state admissions follow the relevant counselling rules. NTA conducts the examination and issues scores rather than running one common admission process for every CMAT college.

• Confirm that the programme accepts the relevant CMAT cycle.
• Submit the institute or counselling application within its deadline.
• Compare your score with the applicable course, category, quota and round, rather than a broad college-name cutoff.
• Complete the required selection, document verification and admission steps.

The CMAT cutoff guide separates admission benchmarks by their scope. A score from the 2026 examination should not be described as automatically valid for every 2027 intake; use the score cycle accepted by the programme.
