NMAT 2024 Memory-Based Questions with Solutions

The NMAT 2024 memory-based questions include time and work, probability, recurring decimals, number properties, data-based calculations, arrangements and language questions. The numbered collection connects questions to their solutions for answer review.

A time-and-work question becomes easier when each person's daily contribution is expressed as a fraction of the whole task. In probability, identify the total possible choices before subtracting the unwanted cases. A recurring decimal can be turned into a fraction by shifting one repeating block and subtracting.

Memory-based questions are useful for practising methods and question wording. They do not recreate the exact adaptive sequence received by every candidate. Keep the year attached to the set when comparing it with current preparation material.

NMAT 2026 Paper Pattern for Practice

Choose the section order at the start, but do not return to a submitted question. Each section has its own clock, and unused time cannot move to the next section.

The NMAT exam pattern uses scaled scores: 12-120 for each section and 36-360 overall. There is no negative marking, but a fixed three-marks-per-correct-answer calculation does not reproduce the official score.

Language Skills: Read Beyond Matching Words

In reading comprehension, two options may share words with the passage while making different claims. Identify whether the question asks for a detail, inference or main idea. An inference must remain within the evidence; a main idea must cover more than one minor example.

For sentence questions, locate the main subject before choosing the verb. A plural noun inside a descriptive phrase does not necessarily make the subject plural. For para forming, find what a pronoun or connector refers to before placing the sentence.

Quantitative Skills: Check the Setup Before Calculating

A correct formula can still give a wrong answer when it uses the wrong base. For a percentage increase, divide the change by the original value. For an average across two groups, account for the size of each group instead of simply averaging the two averages.

Probability changes when a selected item is not replaced. Algebra changes when a variable must be positive rather than any real number. Write these conditions next to the calculation so they do not disappear halfway through the solution.

Data sufficiency asks whether the statements determine an answer. Test each statement independently before combining them; finding one possible value does not prove that it is the only value. These distinctions connect the topic practice in the Quantitative Skills syllabus.

Logical Reasoning: Preserve Every Condition

For an arrangement, separate fixed positions from relative positions. "A is before B" allows a gap, while "A is immediately before B" does not. That one word can change every permitted arrangement.

For critical reasoning, identify the conclusion and the evidence before reading the answer choices. An assumption is an unstated requirement; an inference follows from information already given. A statement that strengthens an argument need not be something the argument requires.

How to Review NMAT Questions with Solutions

After checking an answer, re-solve the question without looking at the explanation. If the same step still fails, revise that concept before attempting another set. If the method is clear but slow, practise a similar question under a suitable section clock.
