- College Infrastructure: The campus has well-maintained buildings and modern labs, especially for engineering students. The library is stocked with a good collection of books and journals. There's also high-speed internet across campus, which makes studying easier.
- Faculty: The professors are knowledgeable and approachable. They focus on practical learning and encourage students to work on projects, which helps us understand concepts better. Some professors are also involved in research, giving students a chance to learn from real-world experience.
Dislikes
- Hostel Facilities: Hostels could be better maintained, as students sometimes face issues with cleanliness, overcrowding, or internet speed. During exam periods, limited access to resources like the library can also be frustrating.
- Administration: Some students feel that the administrative processes are slow, which can make things like getting permissions or solving issues more complicated than they need to be.
Remarks :
I chose NIT Durgapur because it's one of the top engineering colleges in India, known for its strong academic programs, good faculty, and excellent infrastructure. The campus has a vibrant atmosphere with various clubs and societies, which gives students opportunities to grow both academically and personally. Also, the placement record is strong, with many well-known companies coming to recruit students each year. For admission, I had to go through the JEE Main entrance exam, which is the main test required to get into NITs. Based on my score, I got selected for NIT Durgapur during the counseling process. There was no separate group discussion, interview, or written test after the JEE Main for admission to the undergraduate program.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The faculty is pretty good and every faculty holds a PhD degree in his / her own domain. The classrooms are also pretty good but the laboratory equipments are outdated. Equal focus is given on both theory and practical knowledge. The syllabus is regularly updated to meet industrial demands. The semester exams happen twice every six months.
Internships Opportunities :
No, I haven't opted for internship since I am a 2nd year student. The internships are meant for final and pre final year students. Almost 80% of the students participating in the internship drive have obtained the internships. The companies that came for internships include Microsoft, Apple, Reliance etc.
Placement Experience :
The best part of this college is the placements. The highest package last year was 51 lac/year and the minimum was 4.5 lac/year with the average of 11 lac/year. The main companies that came for placements are Microsoft, apple, reliance, iocl, etc.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
NIT Durgapur fee structure is cumulative of multiple components, such as tuition fee, hostel fee, medical insurance, mess and other security deposits, etc. Out of all these fee components, there are a few components that are charged one-time by NIT Durgapur, while some have to be paid semester-wise, such as tuition fees. NIT Durgapur fees further vary depending upon the course or specialisation chosen by the students. Tution - 5 to 7 lakh for 4 years Hostel - 1.2 to 1.5 lakh for 4 years One time payment - 15 thousand Other fee - approx 1.2 lakh
Campus Life :
Recstacy and aarohan are the two fests of this college. Aarohan is the tech fest whereas the recstacy is the cultural fest. Library has an adequate number of books for all department. There are over 20 clubs in this college.
Hostel Facilities :
Yes, If you have taken admission in the college, you need to accept the hostel. The hostel infrastructure is pretty good. Each person is provided with a table, a chair and an almirah. The mess food is not upto the mark and the mess food is very unhygienic and tasteless.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.

Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
