It's the 2nd best college in Kolkata and the best under Calcutta University. One of the oldest and has a brand name as well. The admission process is totally on the basis of the boards marks no interview nothing.
The curriculum is somewhat average. For Undergraduate degree it's full of knowledge. But you need to take an additional course as well. The professors are aged and experienced but the way of expressing it may not be so effective. They teach in English as well as in vernacular. There were 6 semesters half yearly basis.
No,I was pursuing CA inter along with that so no time for that, else i did some online internships in IMUN and country travel hotels, which was unpaid though. It was a Sales and HR internship for promotion purpose like campus ambassadors.
The placement offers are not so good.Companies are not so great. But I heard after my batch EY did mass hiring for bcom students with around 3.8 to 4.2LPA. Else you can apply offline they have better opportunities.
For 1st year it is around 4k 2nd year 3k 3rd year 4k It doesn't increase marginally but somewhat a small amount may increase. But still if anyone wants to avail scholarship the SVMCM scholarship is available and also the national scholarship for need based students.
The life is based on the way you interact with others, the students were friendly. There's a college library and an air conditioned reading room to study. There are Table Tennis and carrom available to play and some open space to play any sport. There's a Student's Union which manages all affairs regarding fests and other events.
There are PGs in girish park and Tollygunge where students come from outstation. There's no such hostels in college but there are affordable Pgs were students stay. For food there are mess in that location itself or Pgs provide for the same as well.

Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
