An Ideal university
Likes
- The campus has a very lively vibe to it, with many people being friendly. Not to mention canteens, and comprising of a huge area. The ideal university life when someone thinks about a university, I must say.
- Infrastructure depends on the department but overall with complaints they do fix it
Dislikes
- As I said it depends on faculties so some departments toilets and classrooms aren’t cleaned.
- As it is govt. the system is quite long and lengthy for something to be approved or implemented.
Remarks :
I chose Jadavpur university as it is one of the best and top university of India. To get admitted here one has to give the admission test which is held by the uni every year for UG,PG,PhD and every other courses.
Course Curriculum Overview :
This course was where I wanted to pursue my further interest and JU had some of the best faculty members of this dept. the professors were very well educated and would say reviewing method is also very good. The difficulty of the exams depended on the course but overall the exam was made in such ways that it is what was taught to us
Internships Opportunities :
Many societies like spriha society, responsible charity and many more opportunities are provided and you can join them too with helping them teach students and spreading awareness. These internship do help people for their resume and further ventures
Placement Experience :
The uni offers placement for every faculty we have a placement cell. The engineering faculty promises very good placements for sure no doubt. Though other faculties do have it, it’s rather not strong compared to the engineering.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
For Arts, First year we paid 1200 including admission fees and from second year onwards we paid 950 per year. And scholarship were also available so people can apply for that and get their money back. Engineering and science faculties might differ in their fees from Arts but the difference isn’t much drastic
Campus Life :
This uni has one of the best FEST in entire Kolkata. When the fest season is around the corner the lanes light up and the season last for almost a month, with each faculty having a week to conduct its fest then the other faculty takes over and so on. The fest is conducted in the month of march and April upon discussion. Sports department also select people from all faculties interested to participate in national level or university level competitions. The uni is active in MUN, Debates and many competitions, programmes may it be in drama, movie, debate etc. There is a central library which is accessible by all and each department has its own library as well with books necessary for students. And during the fest season each faculty conducts sports for everyone to participate. Most of the things are student run in the campus, the clubs(JU has amazing clubs that one can join) and groups.
Hostel Facilities :
Yes I opted for the hostel. The process for the hostel is more difficult than getting into the uni itself. The process includes giving interviews and then getting selected. The girls hostel has 3 hostels in the main and one in salt lake. As I a female, saying about the girls hostel, the hostel do take new comers twice a year and prefer more the income of the family yet sometimes taking into factors like distance. As the number of people applying for the hostel are so much not many get into it. The hostel is very affordable compared to staying in rents and pg. The hostel serves good food with the menu of fish in the morning and egg for dinner literally everyday yes everyday! Including chicken twice a week and a special dinner at the end of the month. The mess fees comes about 1400-1550 per month, and a security deposit of 4000 to which I say is very affordable for the food and amenities they provide.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
