- The campus life is very open and free. The teachers are generally friendly and are open to providing research opportunities.
- The campus life here is fabulous, fests and events happen all year along.
Dislikes
- The conventional way of teaching persists here as it does in NITs and other older institutions.
- The pressure can be slightly higher if you target a 9+ CGPA. This is something to consider before joining.
Remarks :
It is not easy to get in here, especially the CSE program which has really high cut-off in the WBJEE exam. So prepare your PCM in +2 well if you want to be here. Generally you have to rank within 200 in the WBJEE exam to get into the cse stream.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is modified based on the new tech stack that is coming. The faculty is open to discussing possible inclusions to the curriculum after the course via feedbacks, so it gets modified. Exams and teaching nethods are slightly towards the conventional monotonous side, but not too difficult and is made for everyone.
Internships Opportunities :
I did internship with Wells Fargo and got it on campus. Other companies also offered internships here. Wide range of companies varying from DE shaw to Google comes for interns to the college. Although it's generally tougher to get an internship than getting a job, buy you'll get plenty of opportunities here.
Placement Experience :
The placement scenario varies but is quite good. For my course almost all students who sit for the interviews get a job. There are placements for interviews as well. The overall system is quite good.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Yearwise payment is around 2500 rs only. It generally does not increase. You can get scholarship as well. Lab fees or other fees are included in this. The amount is unbelievably low by the standards of the engineering colleges.
Campus Life :
There are multiple fests happening all around. Sanskriti is the cultural fest and you get that for all three faculties in the college, and then you have Srijan, the tech fest which happens in spring. Overall the college life is really fun, with ample greenery and fun zones. You'll hear a lot of stuff on media. But most of them are exaggerated lies.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
