- Faculty:- faculty of our department are very cooperative and also very helpful . They provide there whatsapp number to the students and some of them motivate us to ask any academic related doubts to them and they are always ready to help us. Some of the faculties make a personal WhatsApp group with the students of class apart from the official college group to help students by providing them previous year question paper , some model questions , solving doubts of the students giving advice related to academics and good level questions. Faculties here give there all out to make student academically successfull
- Infrastructure:- infrastructure here is nice , well connected by wifi , air-conditioned classroom, computer labs , language lab , library with a reading room and ample amount of books to finish our 4 years from gate previous year questions , question bank and international journals to semester books everything is there .
Dislikes
- Location:- location here is one of the biggest drawbacks, since it is well connected by railway station, metro station and roads it is easy to reach here but the road here are covered with potholes and every odd day we found construction going on the road , this road becomes special headache during monsoon where potholes on road are filled with water and becomes muddy some times
- No of seats :- college has recently increased a drastic number of seats compared to the year 2023. Which makes the campus occupied and a significant competition is faced by students during placement drive
- Campus size:- campus size is also average here so don't expect a huge campus where you can hang out with friends, yes there are many places to hangout and you can spend time there also college is very lineant towards students special after first year
Remarks :
The good thing that made me choose the college were good alumini base (estd at 1998) , healthy competition between students, moderate attendance pressure and decent placement. The bad thing about College is area , here the road has many potholes and not at all maintained and main problem arises during monsoon where the road is filled with water and becomes muddy . The admission here is done through and entrance examination West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) . The examination is of 4 hours , 2 hour maths paper with full marks 100 and then after a break 2 hour physics and chemistry examination with full marks 100 with 50 for physics and 50 for chemistry. The level is in between JEE mains and jee advanced . For this examination you should prepare some jee advanced level questions so that you can maintain speed while solving questions and . Since number of seats has increased recently so you can get cse related branches within a rank of 35,000 , CSE at 17,000 and IT at 25,000.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Growth aspect and future opportunities made me choose my branch . Here first year subject is common for everyone while maths having different modules from cse/IT and non CSE/IT students . Most of the teachers of our department has done there M.tech while few have did there PhD. Teachers are cooperative and friendly.In a semester there are 4 CAs (continuous assesment) held each CA is of 25 marks and an additional 5 marks is given according to attendance. CA1 comprises of quiz of 10 marks with a ppt , CA2 comprises of quiz of 10 marks with a hand written report, CA3 is a written exam where questions are set by the college professors and checked by them, CA4 is a MCQ based exam where question is provided by MAKAUT on there web portal co . Internal examination of 30 marks and sem is of 70 marks . Sem exam are of moderate level where one day study is not enough. Notes are provided by the college in Google classroom and personal WhatsApp group for helping students during the semester exam
Internships Opportunities :
Many companies do visit here for internship and you should prepare for data structures and algorithms and should have atleast one development skill in your hand with no active background. Many students here ho for off campus internship in many startups and get pre placement offer there
Placement Experience :
Many companies visit our college during the placement drive most of them being mass recruiters like TCS , Accenture, INFOSYS, L &T , Epam systems etc..package ranging from 4.5 lakh per annum to 8 lakh per annum some product based and start-ups also visit our campus like SAP labs , topper .Most of the placement are done together with techno india colleges and overall if you are from CSE branch or any related branch or IT you can expect 80-85% placement while other branches like ECE can expect 60-70% placement and other branches have bad placement. However all branches are allowed during placement it all depends on your coding skills . A overall 6 CGPA is asked for sitting in campus drive along with no active backlog and a minimum of 60 % in class 12th boards . Well companies ask only 6CGPA but it's always adviced to have 7.5+ CGPA for getting shortlisted . Average package is 6.5+lakh with median of 5.8+ lakh for CSE/IT branches and highest package was 42lakh per annum on the year 2023.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There fees here varies according to the course you choose like for CSE /ITbranch it is 6.98 lakh for 4year course and for other branch it is lower like 5.8 lakh for 4 years Here is the detailed fees structure for CSE and IT branches :- 1st semester:- 98,500 , 2nd semester:- 95,000 , 3rd , 4th , 5th and 6th semester:- 84,000 This fees structure covers all the lab , development, admission fees but during the semester exam at the end of each semester you have to pay Rs.1,200 during sem exams. There is management quota available where you can take admission without giving WBJEE by giving donation which varies according to boards percentage and other factors . If you are from TFW (tution fees weaver) category then tution fees is not taken from you and then the course becomes pretty much affordable. Apart from these there are many other scholarship available for west bengal and out of state student like SVMCM , vidyalaxmi scholarship and some other scholarships for SC and ST.
Campus Life :
The campus life here is vibrant and each of you enjoy it . The healthy coding competition between the students make the college very speech in it's own terms . There are many clubs in here like for coding, open source,eco, social work, you will find everything you need .There are two sports complex one indoor badminton court and a playground outside the college campus where all sports like took place .College is well connected with accessible from anywhere in the campus and the classroom has sitting capacity for 60 peoples , most of the classrooms have AC and the medium of teaching is through black board and projector, ppt are provide in Google classroom. College has it's canteen and there is a library with approximately 5000+ title books and it subscribers 52 national and international journals and print access to 3000online jounal. The library here is comprehensive so no need of buying semester books and additionally there is an AC reading room .There is a strict no ragging culture.
Hostel Facilities :
One of the bad aspect of our college is non avability of any hostels. Out college doesn't have there own hostel but nearby there are many pgs and hostel which are connected fully by wifi . If you live in pgs then your total monthly expense which include food + hostel rent+ electricity bill will be approx 7000-8000 monthly (it depends on how much sharing do you live and what type of pg are you in) . Railway station, market is available within 2 km range and there is a medical shop nearby the college the road are not maintained and potholes are filled with water during monsoon but doesn't create as such problems in pgs . Electricity is almost available 24/7 and an invertor is provided by most of the pg owners . There is no ragging culture here in the hostels and all friends together spend a good time . in pg you can buy your own vegetables or raw items and an aunty( chief) will made the food for us .. The vegetable is brought by contribution of all the pg mates . The taste of food is OK.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
