Likes
- The hostel facilities are pretty good. There is separate hostel for girls and boys. The hostel are hygienic and maintained regularly
- The college has access to badminton court, cricket ground , football ground and many more.
- There is separate gyms for boys and girls and also there is a canteen.
- There is full CCTV coverage on all over the campus in this college
Dislikes
- The faculties in the EE dept are not very helpful and friendly. They tend to humiliate students and don't really consider to cure the curiosity of students. Also their teaching methods are poor .
- The food quality is very poor in the hostel. It's better to be in a PG outside than wasting money in hostel.
- The college doesn't have a boundary so there is security issues
- There are low to no placements in this college. Teachers often advices students to persue higher studies to hide their inability to provide placement. People having skills also are not getting any placement.
Remarks :
First of all being an engineering aspiration I choose this college because it's a CFTI institute under MoE, Govt of India. I have cleared the WBJEE exam which is the engineering entrance exam for West Bengal. I have secured a pretty healthy rank in that exam. And I was allotted this college through the counseling process. There was no separate means for my admission although students can also get admission to this college through JEE Main exam.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose Electrical Engineering because I have 3 electrical engineers already in my family so I also wanted to study in a core engineering field and there is no better core than Electrical. The faculties are all very educated and all. They also have many research papers to their name but they are not very helpful. They have a huge ego and sometimes don't value knowledge. And the teaching methods are also poor. Some teachers also don't follow the course structure and teach on their own and thus we have an incomplete syllabus. It's better to attend YouTube lectures rather than attending lectures of teachers in the EE dept. I got the SVMCM scholarship provided by the West Bengal govt. It has helped me a lot to cover my tuition fees and hostel fees. The university which I am under is called MAKAUT. Everything is good about the university but the assessment of exam papers are low quality and seems like they don't read what is inside.
Internships Opportunities :
In electrical engineering in our college you can do an internship on your own or the college can arrange the mandatory internship. But here is a thing, in the core industry most of the internships are unpaid. I did my internship at SAIL, Durgapur and it was an unpaid one.
Placement Experience :
The placement scenario is very poor in this college. There are no core placements in good company. Almost all the students are unplaced right now. Teachers and TPOs often tell students to pursue higher studies. They do it so that their inability to provide placement offers and good career options for students is not exposed. They act like it's the best college. But in reality, it's the worst.
Campus Life :
The fest in our college is called Kristitarang. The fest is usually held in March. There are usually 2 nights for the fest. Renowned artists are invited to perform in the fest. The library is vast in terms of books. There are also different magazines and newspapers updated on a daily basis( for newspapers). There are many clubs in this college like robotics club, photography club, nature club etc. Interested students can join their respective fields of interest. The hostel itself is pretty good but the food quality is very poor. And the cost of meals in a hostel is very high. It's 120 rupees per day for a meal in a hostel. Almost every day you have to arrange food on your own if you want to have good and healthy food ( excluding nonveg meal days in the hostel). The registration process is pretty simple for the hostel. But the chief warden is very rude and misuses his powers.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
