UBKV is one of the top universities of AGRICULTURE accredited by ICAR. There are two ways of getting admission in ubkv. one is through the Total Marks of physics, chemistry and biology in WBCHSE for students of West Bengal and another one is through the car-AIEEA - UG exam conducted by NTA for admission in ICAR quota. There are also CBSE board quotas for Students of CBSE and the Hill quota is also present. I qualified by marks of the Higher secondary exam of WBCHSE.
Professors are very helpful. Their teaching ability is too good. There are 2 semesters in a year and each semester has mid exam (30 marks ) an end term exam ( 50 marks ) and practical & viva (20 marks ) for each subject There are 10-11 subjects in each semester. The term exams are timely. The main difficult subjects are GPB and ECO. So students have to read these subjects from earlier. There are monthly scholarships for merit students each semester.
Every year the students organise a fest called Nexus in March. Also, there are hostel picnic, ug picnic, freshers welcome party etc. The students also organise rakhi bandhan, Rabindra Jayanti, Saraswati puja etc. All types of books related to agriculture are available in the Library. There are multiple sports clubs which organise annual sports meet , cricket tournaments, football tourna, indoor t etc There are two types of clubs, cultural and sports. Each has a separate club under which several programs are run by students. The hostel Life is awesome and the rooms in the hostel are very well fa. The mess food is average. There are 2 badminton courts and one common room where tv, carram, table tennis etc. are there. The bathrooms are also good, every week the bathrooms are cleaned. There is a canteen on campus where u can get a variety of food.
Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
