- The thing which I like the most about this college is its faculty. Faculty members are very helpful and they are always ready to guide us. They work hard to teach us and our college also accept reviews of about the faculty from its students so that it can improve.
- Another thing which I like the most is its infrastructure. There is pond in the middle of the campus which makes its view beautiful. Beautiful plants and trees are present in the campus and you can sit under them. If you are a nature lover, It feels like a heaven in our campus.
Dislikes
- One thing which I don't like about this college is its college life. Fest is not organized regularly and only one fest is organized in last 4 years. Also other extracurricular activities are very less in comparison with other colleges.
- Another thing which I don't like about this college is its hostel and mess. I leave the hostel because of its bad food and high cost. If you want enjoy hostel life of college then definitely this college is not suitable for you.
Remarks :
The factors that made me choose this college are its placements and faculties. The placement drive in my college is very active for the CSE branch and even average students can also get placed. Other branch students also get placed in companies if they have good technical knowledge. For another branch, very less companies visit. Admission criteria in this college are WBJEE and JEE main exams. Students can get admission if they appear in one of these exams and cross the cutoff at this college. For WBJEE, the cutoff goes around 12000 and for JEE the main cutoff is around 85 percentile to get admission in the CSE branch. My WBJEE rank was 11397 and prepared from YouTube and self-studies.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose CSE in this college because of its placement records and faculty members. Faculty members are very supportive and they work hard to get us placed. The placement drive is also very active and strict. Approximately 80% faculties in my college have PHD degrees and they are talented. They teach well and are always ready to help students. Mid-semester exams and semester final exams happen timely and you can pass them easily if you have attended the classes regularly. The difficulty level of these exams is medium. There are several scholarships provided at this college. Eligible students can get TFW and fee waiver which makes their tuition fee-free. Students can also get other state-level or central-level scholarships.
Internships Opportunities :
Our college provides us opportunities for internships in cognizant and persistent salesforce developer roles. They have provided us with the course of salesforce technology and on successful completion of this course we will get the internship.
Placement Experience :
Placement in our college is very good. To be eligible for the placement you must not have an active backlog in any semester and should have 60% in the 12th(it can be less or more based on the company). Mass recruiters are TCS and Cognizant. Only these two companies hired around 200 students. Other good companies are Wipro, persistent, KPIT, Infosys etc and each can hire around 20 to 50 students. The highest package offered by TCS prime is 9 lac for the java developer role and the average package is around 4 lacs for different roles. More than 90% of eligible students got placed in our branch. My aim is also to get placement in a reputed company.
Campus Life :
Fest is not regularly organised. I am now in 4th year but I have seen only one fest in my whole college life. Books and journals are available in the library and you can either read them in the library or you can make them issue to read in the room. There is a basketball court, volleyball court and cricket ground present on the campus. Every tournament for these sports is organized in our college. Many social groups are available that are run by students like Students Chapter and ingenium. Ingenium is a technical club where you can join and contribute to the based on your knowledge. There is a boy hostel and a girl hostel available on the campus. The hostel is very costly ( 7000/month) and their food quality is low. Many of my friends leave the hostel because of this. You can easily get a rented room or PG near the college. I live in a rented room with a room partner. They charge 1500 for each. You can also join mess. They charge around 2000 per month for two-time food(afternoon and dinner).

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
