- Faculties: So there are lot of helpful faculties which help you in doing your job. And they are very helpful. So if you went to them and ask them questions, or they will resolve your query, and they are very friendly too. So this is one of the thing that I like about the college. Its faculty team is good, and they are very well educated, so they can resolve your doubts easily..
- College take exams very strict. This is the one thing I like the most, because it increases the, you know Value of the exam. So our college duty is to prepare for a strict exams and follow other academic things like they are very concerned with the most completion. And they will take extra classes to complete the course. If the course goes very well, then it will take extra class to complete your course, and they will provide many materials like question bags and other kinds of notes, books and everything. But faculties to help you for your exams. So this is one thing like Academic sections bigger, they provide each and everything our student need to excel in the exam
Dislikes
- Attendance- there is a strict requirement of 75% attendance, which I think is the biggest problem. So if you want to do internship, or any kind of side assault, then you will face problem because of that tendency And I think college would think about it. This is the thing which I didn't like about the college at all. This is the worst of all.
- Awareness: there will be no awareness about, you know, product based companies, or like that. So college should conduct multiple sessions regarding that. Also, college is not very interested in other cultural activities. There are very limited cultural activities happening in our college, so college should try to, you know, improve in that area.
Remarks :
I took this college through the wbjee exam and my rank was 14500. There were no additional rounds. Just, you know, apply for the counselling. I watch reviews here and there on every website. And watched YouTube views regarding the placement and the academics of the college, through which I decided to pursue my BTech in this college. I also talked to some seniors that I got in contact with through Facebook and they told me that this is a good college for placements So I decided to pursue it here.
Course Curriculum Overview :
So I chose this course in computer science business systems because I have an interest in computers. Regarding the qualification of the faculties, so most of the faculties are either pursuing PhDs or having PhDs in their respective domains. And there are lots of exams in the college, like its the semester. There are four CA exams. Then there are term papers, then quizzes, and then there is an internal exam. And there is a final semester exam. So there are lots of exams and assignments. There is no fee hike during the course, whatever the fees are, they will be discussed before you take the course And regarding the scholarship for students from outside Bengal, there is no scholarship. But for students from West Bengal, there are lots of scholarship opportunities provided by the West Bengal government.
Internships Opportunities :
No, the college will not provide any kind of internship opportunity. So in this section, I clearly state that if you want to get an internship, then you have to get your own by yourself. There will be no assistance from the college. College will try to stop you from doing that because of the attendance issues. So if you are going to pursue the internship in the 8th semester or 7th semester, then it will be ok. But if you are thinking that you will be doing it in your 3rd year, then it is not possible, because the college is bound to allow it because of the strict 75% attendance issues. So that was the problem I faced and I did not get any internship opportunities from the college
Placement Experience :
Before 2024, college placement was very good. They provided placement for almost every student. But in 2024, due to the recession, college placement failed drastically; only around, I think, 50 to 60 per cent of students got placed. I got placed in on-campus So, before 2024, and it was very good. But after 2024, it is very average. But this is the case for almost every college due to the recession. So maybe, in future, it will improve and attain the similar status it has. College placement is good, but due to these recent times, the placement fell drastically because there are a lot of students also pursuing higher education So this year, 2024, I think the placement percentage is around 60% or 65%, thanks to TCS.
Campus Life :
Yeah, there is a cultural feast that happens each year in September or October. Then there is a library in which all your semester books will be. And there is a games meet, and lots of there are 3 to 4 playgrounds where you can play or take participants in multiple sports. There are a lot of student chapters anymore that can join it according to their interests There will be many competitions going on between different chapters. So anyone who are To participate in this competition can do so. Aside from these student chapters, there are a lot of seasons conducted by the college on various domains by the experts. So you can also participate in that. Also, you can participate in very hackathons, that happen in the college that you can do.
Hostel Facilities :
So I don't opt in for the college hostel. I live outside the college, but I have very much information about the college hostels. So hostel rooms are good, but they have very strict rules and regulations like you have to enter in the evening at a particular time (7 p.m.). Then the quality of the food is below average And if you are, if you are going to consider outside, then it is also very good. There will be no problem. But inside the hostel, there are a lot of road regulations set by the college administrations. So you can obtain according to your choice

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.

There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
