MIT-WPU Scholarships are offered based on the academic merit of the candidates and their performance in national or state-level entrance exams, including MIT-WPU CET. MIT-WPU Pune also offers scholarships based on the sports achievements of an individual.

MIT-WPU Pune Scholarships 2026

MIT-WPU Pune offers scholarships to meritorious students based on their academic performance in the National-level/State-level entrance exams and the Entrance Examination conducted by MIT-WPU (MIT-WPU CBT Score). The categories of Merit-based Scholarships are mentioned below.

  • Dr Vishwanath Karad Scholarship: This scholarship offers a full tuition fee waiver for the entire program duration and is available to 5% of the total student intake. It is granted based on the conditions specified in the respective policy.
  • MIT-WPU Merit Scholarship-I: These scholarships offer a 50% waiver on the total academic fee for the entire program duration and are available to up to 10% of the total student intake. The award is subject to meeting the conditions outlined in the respective policy.
  • MIT-WPU Merit Scholarship-II: These scholarships offer a 25% waiver on the total academic fee for the entire program duration and are available to up to 12% of the total student intake.   • Scholarships to Elite Sportsperson: These scholarships are awarded to deserving sports persons based on their participation/winning prizes at Nationally/internationally recognised sports competitions/events.
  • Hon’ble Shri. T N Seshan Scholarship: This special scholarship is offered to candidates admitted to the School of Government. The students at the School of Government who are the wards of in-service public servants with a minimum of 5 years of experience in government service shall receive this scholarship, which amounts to 15% of the Programme fee.

Scholarships to Elite Sportsperson:

MIT-WPU Pune offers up to 100% fee waiver to any candidate who participates/wins a medal at West Zone Inter-University, all India inter-university, national/international level, while representing MIT-WPU Pune or playing for any Government-sponsored/Government-recognised official sports organisation (IOA, BCCI, etc.); in any nationally/internationally recognised individual/team sport; would be eligible for the following scholarships for the remaining period of the Programme.

MIT-WPU Pune Scholarship Guidelines

Given below are the MIT-WPU Scholarship guidelines for 2026:

  • Scholarships are awarded to eligible students on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • The number of scholarships awarded depends on actual admissions and will not exceed the approved percentage of seats for that program.
  • Scholarship is not awarded in cash but is adjusted in the fees.
  • If the number of eligible candidates exceeds the limit for one scholarship category, the extra candidates will be moved to the next scholarship slab.
  • No two scholarships will be given concurrently except the scholarship for the MAEER/ MIT-WPU Employee concession and the Alumni concession. In such cases, the total amount of the scholarship/concession should not exceed 75% of the total academic fees.
  • Academic Performance (Domestic): To continue the scholarship for the total duration of the Programme, the student should maintain a minimum CGPA of 8.0 and above every year with no live backlogs in any subject/programme and no semester break.
  • Academic Performance (OCI/CIWGC/CIWSEA/FN): To continue the scholarship for the total duration of the Programme, the student should maintain a minimum CGPA of 6.0 and above throughout all semesters of every year.
  • Attendance: Students must maintain at least 80% attendance each semester, including allowances for illness, sports, or other reasons. For international students, the minimum requirement is 75%.
  • Discipline: Students must follow the university’s Code of Conduct and maintain good behaviour and discipline. Any violation will result in a written warning and immediate cancellation of the scholarship for the current and future years.
  • If a student’s admission is cancelled, the scholarship becomes void, and the student must repay the total fee waiver received up to that point.
  • MIT-WPU Pune has the right to involve scholarship recipients in promotional activities.
