NIT Kurukshetra selects students through entrance-based admission and does not offer direct admission. Applications are submitted online for more than 50 programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD levels. The accepted admission routes include JEE Main, DASA, GATE, CAT/MAT and NIMCET. Students must meet the eligibility and selection requirements of their chosen programme.

B.Tech is the institute's flagship course, with a first-year fee of INR 1.84 lakhs for 2025. Applicants need at least 75% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at the 10+2 level from a recognised board. Selection uses JEE Main scores and JoSAA counselling, the process through which seats are allotted. MBA is another programme available at the institute.
