The hostel mess is of good enough quality. The breakfast is relatively better. The lunch is usually mid. Dinner is usually good, but the extras are worth it (extra items that need to be paid for separately). The mess is worth its cost. Registration process is included within the admission process. Most students get hostel rooms. The locality is Naagarabhaavi, in which NLSIU is located, in case hostel rooms are allocated.
Life at campus is good enough to maximize the returns from your academic interests. Everything in NLSIU that is invested into by the college itself is academics-oriented. Any other pursuits are law-focused, so any extracurriculars are sustained by different interest groups, mainly the students. There are multiple instagram groups made for NLSIU kids, with the primary ones being the official representatives of the NLSIU Administration, realnlsiuconfessions, etc. The NLSIU Fest is called Strawberry Fields.
Read Full ReviewFood quality is good, with specialists being employed to ensure food is nutritious for the students, rooms are cleaned weekly and are comfortable, fans, lights, desk, chair, dresser and a cupboard are provided by the college, hostel registration will be done during orientation itself, and rooms are allotted (to students from Bangalore) based on availability. Students from outside the city are guaranteed a hostel room
Student run clubs are the norm in NLSIU, there are several clubs including debate clubs, cultural clubs, and so on. Sports are an extracurricular activity that all students can pursue. Events are organized regularly, with each club having specific events across each trimester.
Read Full ReviewThe hostels are provided based on the city in which you live. For example if you are a resident of Bengaluru it is difficult for you to get a hostel on campus. There are 5 hostels for boys and 5 for girls and special accommodation outside in a hotel like building called olive. Mess food is pretty bland but can get better on some days.
The social life at NLSIU is a blend of diverse cultures and ethnicities which give deep insights into the multicultural setting that India actually has. This is further bolstered with the organization of events that are pretty vibrant. The infrastructure is quite good and there is a state of the art library which houses books from all genres.
Read Full ReviewAccording to Bangalore, the food is very hygienic and good. But to North Indians it'll taste not very pleasing, but it's very good and lots of variety available. The plates are cleaned as we eat and there are meals for 4 times a day with quick takeaway breakfasts for late students.
Every month there are atleast 2-3 big events not to mention the small ones like JALSA, Strawberry Fields, GCL,etc. It is very fun and all kinds of fields available for people of every creative field. Library fully stocked with every book you can think of and very futuristic. Classrooms equipped with smart boards, speakers, wifi, switch boards under desks. Lots of committees available to join and have fun l.

Read Full ReviewAverage food quality but still better than many colleges. Hostel compulsory for students outside Bengaluru with decent infrastructure. Common washrooms and both double and triple sharing rooms Alloted on randomised basis in first year, can choose roommates after 1st year.
Strawberry fields: rock band competition which is the flagship fest of event of NLS, hasn't happened since 2 years. Other minor events are thoroughly conducted with cultural and sports events. Probably the best library in all of NLUs, every legal related book available in the library both online and offline. Big ground with football, cricket, table tennis and other sports available here, though not given much preference as students don't get much time to engage in sports due to academic pressure.
Read Full ReviewThere are 5 boys hostels of which 3 are triple sharing and 2 are double sharing. Every room has a table, bed, mattress, chair and almirah for each resident. Every hostel also has a common fridge and induction. Similarly, there are also 4 girls' hostels. There is an open quad in the boy's hostels. The hostel fee is around 33k for us. One problem with current hostels is the lesser capacity to accommodate students while at the same time, a larger intake of students is happening every year. The current first-year batch has 300 students as compared to 120 students in our batch. Regarding mess: There are two messes, one for boys and one for girls. The mess menu consists of several north Indian and south Indian dishes. The taste of food varies. Sometimes, the food is of decent quality. However, at other times, they have bad taste and quality. Overall, it is decent but a lot could be improved in the same.
Campus life is chill. There is also the Student Bar Association (SBA) that mostly negotiates and coordinates with the administration on several issues. There are student-run committees that organize several events such as Mooting, negotiations, debates, quizzes, etc. organized by the committees. We also have a Univ Week in May every year which involves several competitions like singing, dancing, pottery making, painting, etc. Regarding sports: NLS has a field for football, cricket and other sports. There is also a basketball court. Several sports such as the Gully Cricket League, Basketball and football leagues happen across the year. Regarding library and classrooms: The library is state of the art with books and journals from every area of law to social sciences. There are elaborate seating spaces and common rooms for meetings and discussions. The classrooms are built to facilitate a Socratic-style method of teaching and have ACs projectors and microphones.
