GEU admissions use national entrance exams such as JEE Main and CUET UG, along with the university-level GECET. For the 2027-28 intake, the schedule is expected to follow the previous admission pattern.

Graphic Era University Courses and Fees

GEU offers 135+ programmes through 25+ departments at UG, PG, and doctoral levels. The total programme fee starts at INR 2.67 Lakhs for a 3-year BA course and goes up to INR 18.59 Lakhs for B.Tech in CSE and AI-linked specialisations.

BA (Hons.) is offered in Economics, English, Political Science, and Psychology from INR 2.67 Lakhs for 3 years. The 3-year Bachelor of Hotel Management costs INR 6.44 Lakhs and includes hospitality operations, food production, and hotel administration.

Graphic Era University Admission Process

GEU conducts admissions online. Students apply at apply.geu.ac.in and pay an application fee of INR 1,500. Selection is done through entrance exam scores or Class 12 merit, followed by counselling, document checking, and fee payment.

The entrance exams accepted for major programme groups are listed below.

B.Tech Admission

For B.Tech, students must complete 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. General category students need at least 45% marks in PCM. GEU selects students through JEE Main, CUET UG, or GECET scores.

CSE and AI-linked branches usually see the highest demand and the most competitive closing ranks. Civil and Mechanical Engineering are comparatively easier to get with moderate JEE Main or CUET UG scores.

MBA Admission

For MBA admission, applicants need a graduation degree from a recognised university with at least 50% aggregate marks. GEU accepts CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, and GMAT scores. Shortlisted students must appear for a Group Discussion and Personal Interview on campus. MBA specialisations include General Management, Business Analytics, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Aviation Management, and Hospital Administration.

B.Des Admission

B.Des applicants must have passed 10+2 in any stream. Admission is based on CUET UG scores or the university’s design aptitude assessment. Animation, Graphic and Communication Design, Industrial and Product Design, and UX/UI Design follow the same selection process and fee structure.

B.Sc Nursing and Allied Health

B.Sc Nursing and BPT admissions are based on NEET UG scores. Students must have 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, with at least 45% marks for the General category. Paramedical courses such as BMLT, BMRIT, and B.Sc in clinical health sciences use CUET UG scores or Class 12 marks for merit-based admission.

BBA, BCA, B.Com, and BA

Admission to these UG courses is through CUET UG scores or Class 12 merit. Students do not need any extra test apart from CUET UG or the GEU portal application. Mathematics at Class 12 level is needed for B.Com and BCA. BBA and BA accept students from any stream.

Postgraduate and Ph.D. Programmes

MCA admission requires a BCA, B.Sc (IT), or B.Tech in Computer Science background, with selection through CUET PG or GECET. M.Tech admission is based on GATE or GECET performance. Ph.D. admission is conducted twice every year. Applicants need a postgraduate degree with at least 55% marks and a valid UGC NET, GATE, or GEU Doctoral Entrance Test score.

Graphic Era University Placements

Placements at GEU are strongest for B.Tech CSE and AI-related courses. In the 2024-25 placement season, a B.Tech CSE student from Batch 2025 received the highest offer of INR 61.99 LPA. NIRF 2026 data shows a median salary of INR 6.75 LPA for UG 4-year graduates and INR 6.60 LPA for MBA graduates.

The university states that more than 200 companies took part in the latest placement drive and made 6,200+ total offers. Technology and IT companies form the main recruiter group. Firms from banking, fintech, consulting, and FMCG also visit during the placement season.

Amazon made the highest sectoral offer of INR 47.88 LPA. Intuit followed with INR 44.92 LPA, and PayPal offered INR 34.40 LPA. Confirmed recruiters include Microsoft, Adobe, Google, Atlassian, DE Shaw, Visa, JP Morgan, Deloitte, Wipro, and KPMG. The GEU Technology Business Incubator, supported by the Department of Science and Technology, has helped student and alumni startups in robotics and health-tech.

Graphic Era University Rankings

GEU appears in four NIRF categories. Its University rank of 48 in NIRF 2025 is its best-listed category rank among private universities in Uttarakhand. From 2024 to 2025, the university moved up by 7 places in the Overall category and by 4 places in the University category.

In the Engineering category, the NIRF 2025 score details show 68.63 in Teaching, Learning and Resources and 58.38 in Outreach and Inclusivity. GEU has NAAC A+ accreditation, awarded in 2022. Several B.Tech branches also have National Board of Accreditation (NBA) accreditation.

Graphic Era University Scholarships

GEU provides merit scholarships for the full course duration. The scholarship is fixed at the time of admission and is based on Class 12 marks and entrance exam performance. Eligible students can also get category-based concessions from the first year.

Students can also apply for government scholarship schemes through the National Scholarship Portal. GEU releases the complete scholarship slabs and eligibility rules on its official admission portal when each admission cycle begins.

Graphic Era University Campus and Infrastructure

GEU has a 15-acre main campus in Clement Town, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. It has separate academic blocks for engineering, management, design, paramedical and nursing sciences, along with a central library that offers digital access. Hostel facilities are available for both male and female students. Annual hostel fees range from INR 1.24 Lakhs to INR 2.26 Lakhs, based on room type and occupancy.

The campus includes aerospace and space technology labs, a VLSI design lab, robotics and embedded systems labs, a biotechnology and food technology research centre, clinical skills labs for nursing and paramedical courses, and a design studio for B.Des students. The Technology Business Incubator, supported by the Department of Science and Technology, is also located on campus and has supported startups in robotics, health-tech, and agri-tech.

Graphic Era University vs UPES Dehradun vs DIT University

Students who look at GEU often compare it with UPES Dehradun and DIT University. UPES is known for energy, petroleum, aviation, law, and management-related courses. DIT University is a lower-fee option for core engineering and pharmacy. All three universities are located in Dehradun and attract applicants from Uttarakhand and northern India.

Among these three institutions, GEU has the higher NIRF University rank and NAAC grade. UPES suits students who want energy engineering, petroleum, aviation, or law, where it has a more focused course base. DIT University offers a more fee-accessible path for core engineering and pharmacy, though its NAAC grade and absence from the NIRF top 100 show a difference in scale and research activity.
