First Year experience in IIIT Kottayam

What I Liked

The campus life and the infrastructure are amazing.

Placement Experience:

As I am a first-year student, I have no experience about the placements. The placements in 2024 were very good topping 45 LPA and an average of 15 LPA. The placements cell is very helpful in achieving this mark and is looking forward in getting the best placements for us.

Remarks:

I've got to know about this college by my cousin. I joined this college through JOSAA counselling after writing JEE mains 2024. About this college I think it is very beautiful knowing that it is a new IIIT it has grown very big.The campus is beautiful, and the culture here is very welcoming and well-organized. Overall, I'm really happy to be a part of this institute and looking forward to contributing my part in future

A genuine college review by first year student

Placement Experience:

As I am a first-year student. I didn't experience any of placement situations yet. But our seniors had very good placement experiences topping a whooping 45 LPA in 2024. The average package is also decent i.e. 15 LPA

Remarks:

I've come to know about this college by my brothers and friends. I joined this college via JEE mains counselling. As this college is a govt. certified college and a well branded one (Indian Institute of Information Technology) I had no second thought and choose this as my college.

What I Liked

Infrastructure, its quite simple and elegant
Scenic beauty, the institution is on top of a hill , so very beautiful

What I didn’t like

Faculty, not up to the expectation As they all were phd scholars, I was hoping for more
Campus life, very much academic oriented

Placement Experience:

Amazon ibm bosch nissan nvidia etc Highest 5800000 per annum Average 1400000 per annum 83 percent students get placed Individual placements 128 Number of offers 171 the institution have a placement cell which helps us through the placement process

Remarks:

IIITs can give a lot of exposure as it is a institution of national importance Even though its new, it is being recognised everywhere This was the only institution near my house that i could get with my jee rank

COLLEGE LIFE AT IIIT KOTTAYAM

What I Liked

i like the view of my colloege and the events takes place here
events that takes place here i like them and there will be so many events

What I didn’t like

the only thing is to be adjusted here is only about issues of food
infrastructure is fine and but the college is little bit small reagarding th size of acres as they mentioned

Placement Experience:

the job oppurtunities are good the highest last year was 45 LPA and average is like around 12 to 14LPA and i hope that continous in the future we have a plavcement cell here whch will takes care about all the placements happening here

Remarks:

the factor was my mains percentile as of my percentile i got this college and it is located in kerala which is very beautiful but thing is you adjust yourself for the food except the food all are good college environment is so good and it very nice to see

About iiit kottayam

Placement Experience:

The placements are good ,but not as great as expected.The highest package is 44 lpa and average is around 8 lpa.The placement cell is really trying hard ,but as the campus is far from banglore or hyderabad the tech cities,most of the companies are from kochi.

Remarks:

The nature and the coding culture in the college ,and the college is located in Kerala which is great place to visit .Among all the new iiits it has a very good campus with great accomodation.It has it's own campus unlike other iiits

College Life in IIITK

What I Liked

The nature around the campus is very good.All the faculty are phd scholars.There are various canteens in the college.
There is a canteen called migloo in our college. The seating is very good.

What I didn’t like

There is no lift facility in hostels and mess.
No air conditioned classes.The library is small.

Placement Experience:

Every year during the start of the placement season a placement eligibility is released.Cyware,ibm are our campus famous recruiters.The highest package is of 58.9lpa and median is 14lpa.last year the placement percentage is of 80 during the last placement season.

Remarks:

The nature around the college is so good.It is one of the college of national importance.The admission to this college is through jee mains.The general cutoff is of range of 36k to 40k .The highest package is 45lpa last year ie 2024 batch.

IIIT Kottayam life

What I Liked

People are friendly. Nice places around to hang out with friends.
But the curriculum is very good. We can get to learn many programming languages, web languages. We can have more scope for off campus placements with such extraordinary curriculum.

What I didn’t like

Campus life is less. Less marks will result in sending letter to parents.
Strict attendance policy. Less than 80% leads to penalty and even suspension from course.

Placement Experience:

Placement rate is quite low here. Very less accompanies come to our college. Placement rate is low. But the college is getting recognised which would lead to increase in placement rate in future.

Remarks:

Nice location, good curriculum and PHd faculty. As per admission process, the candidate should qualify JEE Mains and should go to JoSAA or DASA process.Usually the cutoff is so high due to so many people writing this exam.

The life at iiit kottayam

What I Liked

Even though there are omly less number of fest and everything i still enjoy my campus life as i had made many good friends
I like the natural weather and the scenic beauty of the campus

What I didn’t like

Too much academic pressure too much workload as well not able to find happiness
Too much strict not allowing us to go anywhere as we have to take sign from the faculty advisor and the faculty advisor doesnt give his sign if we have less mark

Placement Experience:

The placement even though the campus tells 100 percent placement its not quite the case as the placement opportunities is very less we are not givem proper training and they just ignore us if we secure less marks

Remarks:

We have to write jee entrance exam and accordimg to our rank we will get admission in this college according to college placement I got this college as my mark was only that much and i chose this college as it os in my hometown itself

How to survive in IIITK

What I Liked

The Architecture , the college is built on a hill which is almost like a hill station with wonderful views and spots to hangout
The curriculum , The college follows IIIT-Hyderabad curriculum which makes the college standout and attract good amount of placements

What I didn’t like

Climate , being close to the sea , the climate is always humid , and you will be sweating ALOT
Crowd , there is a good chance u will feel zoned out if you are from a city , 60% of college is telugu people and the crowd can get very annoying sometimes

Placement Experience:

Placements are very fine , many companies have visited the campus and many people have been pre-placed , the average package stands around 14LPA , and it is only going to grow because this is a IIIT the College had 100% placement record too the college forces student to publish research papers in order to build a portfolio and attract jobs

Remarks:

The only entrance test for this college is jee , u could also get in by DASA , the climate of the college and the placement record, were the sole reasons on choosing this college. i had taken coaching for JEE the cutoff is usually around 97.8 percentile for this particular college

What I Liked

Ground , gym , cafe and relaxable spaces
The support which we got by faculties from here

What I didn’t like

Campus is not that mich spacious actually
The food they provide is worst actually

Placement Experience:

Placements are fine here by the way just like every college for placements you have to score a minimum level of cgpa to attend the interviews of several companies that have minimum cutoff cgpa to attend.

Remarks:

I have written JEE entrance and got here by Josaa entry portal which has six rounds maximum, The college is average not that spacious and big but the minimum facilities are there gym, ground, cafe etc
