AIIMS Bilaspur Courses and Fees

Students can study MBBS, B.Sc Nursing, B.Sc Allied Health Sciences, MD/MS, post-basic nursing diplomas, clinical fellowships, and Ph.D programmes at AIIMS Bilaspur. As an Institute of National Importance funded by the central government, it charges subsidised institutional fees.

The B.Sc Allied Health Sciences options are Dialysis Therapy Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology, and Operation Theatre Technology. Qualified MD graduates can also pursue subspecialty training through Post Doctoral Clinical Fellowships in Cyto-Pathology, Onco-Pathology, Paediatric Neurology, and Trichology.

AIIMS Bilaspur Admission Process

Admission depends on the programme. MBBS selection uses NEET UG merit and MCC counselling, while centralised AIIMS examinations apply to B.Sc (Hons.) Nursing and MD/MS. AIIMS Bilaspur conducts institute-level admission for its allied health, post-basic diploma, fellowship, and Ph.D options where applicable.

MBBS Admission

Every one of the 100 MBBS seats belongs to the MCC All India Quota, so AIIMS Bilaspur has no state-quota MBBS seats. Admission is decided only by NEET UG merit.

• Meet the academic requirement by passing 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The required aggregate is 50% for General/OBC/EWS applicants and 40% for SC/ST/PwD applicants.
• Be between 17 and 25 years old on December 31 of the admission year. Reserved-category applicants receive the applicable age relaxation.
• Take NEET UG, register for MCC online counselling, fill in choices, accept the allotted seat, complete document verification, and report to AIIMS Bilaspur.

In NEET UG 2025, the General-category closing rank was 2,183 in Round 1 and 6,483 in the final Stray Vacancy Round. AIIMS Bilaspur is one of the more competitive newer AIIMS because it has developed an academic record since 2020 and operates a 750-bed hospital.

B.Sc Nursing and Allied Health Admissions

AIIMS New Delhi centrally conducts the AIIMS Nursing Entrance Test used for B.Sc (Hons.) Nursing admission. Applicants need 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and at least 45% in aggregate. Entry to B.Sc Allied Health Sciences is based on an institute-level entrance test conducted by AIIMS Bilaspur.

PG and Post Doctoral Admissions

AIIMS New Delhi conducts INI-CET for MD and MS admission across the Institutes of National Importance. The examination takes place twice each year through January and July admission cycles.

Doctors with the required MD qualification may apply at the institute level for Post Doctoral Clinical Fellowships in Cyto-Pathology, Onco-Pathology, Paediatric Neurology, and Trichology.

AIIMS Bilaspur Placements and Career Outcomes

AIIMS Bilaspur does not organise a structured campus placement programme. The institute's first MBBS group, admitted in 2020-21, graduated when the First Convocation was held on October 6, 2026. Graduates generally follow the career routes common to central government medical institutions.

The MBBS degree is awarded by an Institute of National Importance and is well recognised for NEET PG and UPSC examinations. Graduates who do not immediately pursue postgraduate study may also explore private-sector roles in Chandigarh and the wider north Indian healthcare market.

AIIMS Bilaspur Campus and Infrastructure

AIIMS Bilaspur occupies a 247-acre forested hillside campus at Village-Changar Palasiyan, 20 km from Bilaspur town in Himachal Pradesh. Arcop Associates developed the campus design. The master plan includes academic buildings, student facilities, residential quarters, and a 750-bed teaching hospital.

The hospital accommodates 750 inpatients across general wards, the ICU, emergency and trauma services, and super-specialty units. It treats more than 1,250 OPD patients per day, allowing students to begin substantial clinical learning from their second year. Other medical facilities include a blood bank, modular operation theatres, and telemedicine through eSanjeevani.

MBBS students can stay in hostels within the campus, while separate residential quarters are included for faculty and staff. The semi-rural Changar Palasiyan site is within a short drive of Bilaspur town and National Highway 3. Its hillside location provides a study-focused setting away from a large urban centre.

AIIMS Bilaspur vs AIIMS Bathinda vs AIIMS Kalyani

AIIMS Bilaspur, AIIMS Bathinda, and AIIMS Kalyani are newer AIIMS established during 2019 and 2020. Each offers 100 MBBS seats and is commonly considered by students with strong NEET UG ranks who do not obtain admission to an older AIIMS.

Among many AIIMS institutions from the 2019 group, AIIMS Bilaspur has a higher hospital-bed capacity and receives mentoring support from PGIMER Chandigarh. AIIMS Bathinda handles primary healthcare referrals from the agricultural belt of north India. AIIMS Kalyani has access to the medical ecosystem near Kolkata. Central government funding rules keep the fee structures of all three institutes effectively the same.
