I was selected in this college by merit. All they asked for was marks in class 10 and 12. The cut off was somewhere above 80 I guess. There were no such interviews or tests. The economics and psychology faculty here is popular.

Gokhale Memorial Girls College is one of the finest colleges in Kolkata located at Bhowanipore. It provides the best education for psychology, English, geography, education and as well as other arts and science stream subjects. Though the cutoff is very high I still got a chance based on my merit score.

The decision to seek admission in this college was solely taken by my father. The environment of the college is good but different students might face different issues. This is an all-girls college hence, students who have studied in a co-ed institution might face peoblem while fitting into the college environment whereas students who have attended an all-girls school may find this college a perfect go-to. Though the college lacks space & might not have yearly fests, students do organise small events and programms throughout the year. Gokhale have several courses like other colleges but lacks other several courses as well. Students residing in kolkata who don't want to seek admission in higher graded colleges or want school like atmosphere can seek admission here whereas students willing to persue higher carrier goals can skip this college. My experience in gokhale college is okay, as I completed my 12th board from a co-ed instituion and faced problem fitting into all girls envirknment.

College is extremely good in studies and tests! The mid-evaluation test is been taken by college faculties! Even surprise tests and revisions are being taken. Regular classes are there. Lab facilities are also pretty much good. Our experience was good too! So it's a renowned college and in a very good location I.e. in the center of Kolkata. Various scholarships are also available. But there are some drawbacks like the campus is small but pretty with a little field and garden. And there is no fest kind of things which will .happen

The first thing which attracts me is the discipline of the college. Sometimes it feels like school. The canteen system is good. The college premises are small but clean and tidy. Guard aunties are so sweet and helpful.

Admission to Gokhale Memorial Girl's College is on a merit basis. While filling out the form we have to fill best 4 subject marks (including English) and based on that percentage is generated and a merit list is generated. Then according to the availability of seats you get selected. The higher your merit is the more likely you are to get admission. No interviews or written tests are taken. I am a BSC Psychology Honors student, and our cutoff was 90% in 12th (English + 3 best subjects) for the course.

Gokhale has one of the oldest and arguably the best Psychology department in the city. The faculty is extremely knowledgeable and the department has all kinds of materials required for practicals. Although there is not much focus on college fests but they make up for it with their brilliant academics facilities. The selection into the college is based on merit, that is the score of 12th board exam. There are no group discussions or interviews as such. The application procedure is completely online and the college administration too is quite helpful.
