Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) began on May 12, 1999, as a state public university in Katra, Reasi district, Jammu and Kashmir. It was formed through the J&K Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Act, 1999, with financial support from the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. SMVDU is recognised by the UGC under Sections 2(f) and 12(B). SMVDU Admission Process

Admission routes differ by programme.
