MAHE runs courses in medicine, engineering, pharmacy, management, law, health professions, architecture, and design through its constituent institutions. As a private deemed university with Institution of Eminence status, its fee structure is decided by the university.

MIT Manipal charges different B.Tech fees for different branches. CSE and AI/ML cost more than core engineering branches. Hostel and mess charges are separate for all programmes and are not included in most scholarship awards.

MAHE Manipal Admission Process

MAHE uses different admission routes for different courses. MET is used for most UG and selected PG courses. NEET is used for medical courses, while GATE and CAT are used for postgraduate technical and management admissions.

B.Tech Admission: MET / JEE Main

MIT Manipal mainly admits B.Tech students through MET, a computer-based entrance test held every year in April and May. The institute also considers JEE Main scores and Class 12 board marks for direct admission, based on the required marks and seat availability.

• Eligibility: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, with at least 45% aggregate marks; 50% may apply for CSE/IT/AI branches at some campuses
• Exam: MET, a computer-based test with 120 questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English
• Selection: MET rank or JEE Main score-based merit, followed by online counselling
• Campuses: MET score is accepted for MIT Manipal, MIT Bengaluru, MIT Jamshedpur, and Manipal University Jaipur

CSE and ECE at MIT Manipal have usually been the most competitive B.Tech branches. General category closing ranks for these branches have often stayed within the top 1,000 to 3,000 MET ranks.

MBBS and BDS Admission: NEET UG

MBBS admission at KMC Manipal and KMC Mangaluru, along with BDS admission at MCODS, is based on NEET UG. Seats are allotted through deemed university counselling regulated by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

• Eligibility: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, with at least 50% aggregate marks; 40% for SC/ST
• Age: Minimum 17 years as on December 31 of the admission year
• Exam: Valid NEET UG score
• Selection: NEET UG merit through deemed university NEET counselling

For General category MBBS admission at KMC Manipal, past NEET UG cutoffs have usually required scores between 650 and 680 out of 720. This shows how competitive KMC is among private medical colleges in India.

MBA Admission

MAHE accepts CAT, MAT, and GMAT scores for MBA admission. TAPMI Manipal is an autonomous management institute on the Manipal campus, and it follows its own admission process. It is also ranked separately by NIRF.

• Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50%

B.Pharm and Allied Health Programmes

B.Pharm admission is based on MET scores or NEET scores for Biology-track students. Physiotherapy, Nursing, and Allied Health Sciences courses under Manipal College of Health Professions use MET or NEET scores, depending on the programme.

MAHE Manipal Placements

MAHE placements are handled by the placement offices of its constituent colleges. MIT Manipal has the most active and detailed placement data among its colleges. Medical, dental, and pharmacy students often choose postgraduate study or clinical practice instead of regular campus placement jobs.

During the 2024-25 season, MIT Manipal recorded a highest package of INR 69.25 LPA and an average package of INR 12.31 LPA across branches. The overall placement rate was 86%, higher than the 73% recorded in 2023-24. CSE had an average of INR 13.1 LPA, while IT had an average of INR 14.2 LPA.

MIT Manipal attracts recruiters from IT, BFSI, consulting, and e-commerce. Amazon, Deloitte, TCS, ANZ, and BookMyShow have recruited from the institute in recent placement seasons.

MAHE Manipal Rankings

MAHE and its colleges appear in several NIRF 2025 categories. The university performs strongly in Medicine, Pharmacy, Dental, Research, and the main University category.

MAHE improved from NIRF University rank 4 in 2024 to 3 in 2025. Its Institution of Eminence status gives it extra academic flexibility and scope for foreign faculty collaborations.

MAHE Manipal Scholarships

MAHE has more than 26 scholarship and financial assistance categories for students in medicine, engineering, pharmacy, and other courses. These awards include full fee waivers, partial tuition fee waivers, merit-based support, and need-based assistance.

Scholarship waivers do not cover hostel and mess fees, which are charged separately. Students may also apply for government schemes such as the Central Sector Scholarship, NSP-based scholarships, and state-level scholarships if they meet the rules. MAHE processes scholarship applications during admission through its admission portal at manipal.edu.

MAHE Manipal Campus and Infrastructure

MAHE’s main campus at Manipal, Udupi district, Karnataka spreads over 600 acres on a hill top. Developed as a self-contained academic township since the 1950s, the campus has a cooler and greener setting than many urban campuses in India.

The Manipal campus includes more than 10 constituent colleges and schools. Students looking at MAHE Manipal for medicine, engineering, or pharmacy often compare it with Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and SRM Institute of Science and Technology. All three are private deemed universities with overlapping applicant groups and strong health science or engineering options.

MAHE has the highest NIRF University rank among the three and performs strongly in dental and pharmacy rankings. Amrita combines medical education with a strong engineering research base, especially at Coimbatore. SRM has the widest campus network and lower B.Tech fees at some satellite campuses. The better option depends on the course, campus preference, and budget.
