- The college has the vibes of an ancient British kingdom with various structures being made during the British rule in India.
- The location is also very impressive.It is highly explorable and Kolkata is a place of never ending stuff to see and do and experience.
Dislikes
- For the name and honour it holds it is not maintained well enough by the authorities.
- There is various political issues slowing the growth of the college
Remarks :
The college is renowned for its quality education and excellent placements.The college offered the course and facilities that aligned with my career goals.I prepared extensively for JEE Main by solving practice papers and attending coaching classes.While I was nervous, practicing mock GDs and interviews helped me build confidence.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum is well-designed and provides a strong foundation for my future career.Eventhough the syllabus is a little outdated it is very important and valuable for an engineer.Being an old college the facilities and faculties are a bit outdated too.But they are very well experienced.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes, I have opted for multiple internships at places like ISRO,DRDO,HAL etc. Our college offers a variety of internship opportunities, both within the college and with external organizations. These internships provide students with valuable practical experience and exposure to the industry.
Placement Experience :
Our college has a strong track record for placements.We have a dedicated campus placement cell, we have consistently seen high placement rates. Many of our students secure job offers through their own networking, internships, and online job portals. Yet the placements in my department/course is very low as it is the same in every other college.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees is 68000 per semester for students with no fee waiver.The fees is 26800 for students with partial fee waiver.The fees is 4000 for students with full fee waiver. One gets a fee waiver based on their income certificate;if the annual income is less than 5 lakhs,the student is qualified to get a fee waiver. Also being an NIT the students of the college is qualified for various other scholarships.
Campus Life :
Life at the campus is vibrant and engaging. The campus is well-maintained, with modern infrastructure and ample green spaces.The social life is buzzing, with a variety of clubs and societies catering to diverse interests. There's always something happening, from cultural events to sports competitions.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostels are your average government engineering college hostels and are not bad for the low fees being paid.One can get a hostel admission easily after one has got their college admission. Students are alloted hostels on the basis of their distance of residence from the college.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
