- Old but well-decorated. Sports grounds are highly maintained. Some of the old hostels need to be renovated. A 1000 seater hostel is under construction. Faculty members are helpful. Campus life gonna be excellent as the area is around 123 acres. Full of greenary and Ganga river is flowing just beside the campus. Kolkata, the city of joy, is just 30 mins away. Seniors are super helpful.
Dislikes
- The placement stats should be improved more. Companies need to convinced to recruit because there is a lot of talented and hard working students are there.
- Faculty members should not be that much strict on attendence. Students should be allowed to do long-term internships. Research environment must be developed like IITs.
Remarks :
Being a space enthusiast my goal was to do Aerospace Engineering. I watched the reviews on YouTube about this department in IIEST Shibpur and it was so disappointing because of the extremely poor placement stats for this particular department. Still, I chose this branch because I have been determined to do higher studies in this field. My JEE main general category rank was around 49000 and being an OBC candidate I got the seat in this college in the very first round of JOSAA counselling. So I froze my seat after the 1st round.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Having the goal to research aerospace was the primary reason to chose this branch. The faculties are well qualified but the problem is the teaching method of some of them. Like the old experienced teachers are following the same teaching materials for years. But the rest keep updating the teaching sources every year. Some professors are highly involved in the research and help students have research interests. But there is a shortage of enough research facilities like only one Wind tunnel and one old fluid lab in the department whereas there is no lab for Propulsion. Another good thing is that the 3rd years are sent to IIT Kanpur for a 1-month flight training course. To be honest semester duration is about 4 months. So one mid-term and one end-term exam is there. The difficulty level varies from subject to subject. Full waiver students pay only 5500 for academics each sem. The GAABESU scholarship is there for financially challenged students.
Placement Experience :
No, as such aerospace companies visit to recruit. So most of the students from my department go for MTech via GATE exam. Last season around 8.57 per cent from this dept. Got placed in non-core like TCS Ninja, Infosys etc. The highest from the Aerospace department was around 12 LPA last season in TATA AIG. I plan to do a master's in foreign after graduation.
Campus Life :
REBECA is the cultural fest(Occurs in Jan or Feb) and INSTRUO(around April) is the tech fest. There is an enormous collection of books and journals in the RAMANUJAN NATIONAL LIBRARY. Many sports facilities are available like cricket, football, badminton, basketball, volleyball etc. There are courts and fields for each sport. LORDS and OVAL grounds are for cricket and football respectively. There are many clubs like EDC(for Entrepreneurship), ROBODARSHAN, REFLEXOBETA(dancing club), EUPHONY(music), SCAGE(art), LES THESPIAN(dramatic society), DEBSOC(debate club), LITSOC(literature) etc. There are 10 hostels and 6 halls for students. Halls are single seater. Food quality is not that good in hostels as compared to halls.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
