IIT Kharagpur is one of the top institutes and an IIT being the oldest and first IIT among all. The alumni base is quite strong and we study among the top brains of country. The campus is large and enthralling with greenery everywhere. Extra curricular activities are in a variety.
The course i chose was on the basis of my rank in jee advanced. But i am also interested in mechanical engineering. Students here indulge in all activities and courses apart from their departmental courses. Exams here are held in two stages mid terms and end terms. Mid terms have 30% weightage and end terms have 50%. Rest comes from class tests and class performance. Faculty is top class all the professors are extremely qualified.
Currently i have not opted for any internships but internship opportunities here are quite good but you have to work hard for it. The competition is high and people put every bit of their sweat in getting internships. We have CAREER DEVELOPMENT CENTRE which looks after internships.
Placement and internships are good as being a prominent IIT. Students here are able to grab crores worth of packages. The placement percentage depends upon the year. Sometime due to layoffs the percentage dips although it floats around 75-80%.
The detailed fee structure involves a tution fee of 100000 rs per semester along with hostel charges. The hostel charges may vary from hostel to hostel but remains more or less the same. The fee has increased considering the past decade. It seems though that the fee may not increase much in near future. The fees for SC and ST students is lesser that is around 25000 per semester.
Campus life is just amazing. We have all the facilities that one wants from a college along with various events like spring fest, tech fest, various hackathons and inter hall events. Students have ball here. Sport events are very prominent and inter iit has its own pleasure.
Hostel mess is good. The workers are friendly and the food quality is average. If you want to satisfy your taste buds then you may feel a bit dissatisfied. We have grand dinners every fortnight. The quality of food varies from hostel to hostel.
Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
