Remarks :
The most common ways getting into IIT KHARAGPUR are JEE ADVANCED and GATE which provide seats for B.Tech and M.Tech courses. The main motivation behind choosing this college is the engagement and various opportunities it provides not only in the field of academics but also sports and cultural. You can find people pursuing almost in every field out there possible and and you can always find seniors to guide you through. You can build great networks even with alumnus. There are lot of events encouraging healthy competitions among students.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum here is very academic focused and you can find every body running after CG because at the end of the day it does matter atleast for on campus placements. There are lot of opportunities outside the academics also. The faculty here are very well trained but due to the large number of students in each section you won't much attention from the professors (atleast in the first year due to 200 students being in one section taught under one professor) unless you go after them. You can always approach them in their free hours to solve your doubts or can wait for the tutorial classes (if any). There are teaching assistants (Phd or research scholars) in the class who try to help the students understand the concepts. Generally there are two exams per semester MidSems and EndSems. Apart from these there can also be class tests, quizzes, or even viva in labs depending on the professors.
Internships Opportunities :
On campus internships are available to students in their pre final year, where various companies visit the campus and offer internships with stipends going as high as 100000 per month. However a student can always apply for off campus internships whenever he wants. There are also projects available in the college where the students can work under a professor or in a group under a department.
Placement Experience :
The on campus placements are very good. The highest being 2.5 crores p.a. approximately and the average being 2450000 p.a.. There are at first the CG criteria where you have to maintain atleast a CG of 6.0 or above to sit for the placements provided that there are no backs in any of the subjects nor any disciplinary charges against you. Apart from these there are various criterion imposed by the visiting companies to select the idle candidates.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
First payment = 40000( paid while counselling, later sent to the college by JoSAA) First year - 293560 (including the 40000) Second year - 284000 Total fees to be paid for the five year dual degree program = 1500000 (approx.) The fee structure consists of one time payments like Institute(1000) , Library(1000), Mess(4000) which are refundable. The semester fees consists of the tution fees (100000 per semester) and other small payments making a total of 105750 per semester. The hostel fees comes in the range of 33000 - 42000 based on hostel assigned to the student by the Hall Management Committee (HMC). There is a fee waiver for the EWS/OB-NCL/UR students having family income less than 500000 p.a. on the tution fees and have to pay only 33335 per semester instead of 100000. There are various scholarships to avail for the students each having their own criteria of family income and the students have to apply for each of them separately along with proper documents.
Campus Life :
The night life at campus is very awesome, with properly lit, clean roads, food joints operating at late night. You can always find people at night on the streets enjoying with their friends. There are a lot of places to visit within the campus such as the Nehru museum, The clock tower, ADDA, the helipads that notoriously famous for enjoying sunrises, etc.. There are a lot of societies and clubs that can open a very new world for you. Apart from the mainstream science and coding clubs there clubs on finance, cooking, acting, trading, etc.. Also the fests conducted here are like festivals. KSHITIJ (tech fest) and SPRING FEST (cultural fest) are the biggest of them ; a three day festival where people from other colleges and states also participate.
Hostel Facilities :
Although the hostels are a bit old, but they are fine for living. With having to share your room with two other roommates in the first year there will be a hall change after the first year where everyone is randomly alloted a new hostel where they have to live till graduation. If lucky one can also get single rooms in second year or after. However the food quality is very bad especially in the big hostels accommodating more than 1000 students like MMM and LBS.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
