- The campus life and the training provided the campus is what makes it a perfect place for developing and officer like personality and an engineer's aptitude
- The daily routine of the cadets is the thing that makes it different from the normal engineering colleges and is a good part about the college
- The alumni bonding is another boon of this campus as this bonding helps in increasing the placement ratio. The senior relationship helps one to overcome every challenge that comes in between. The bonding is not only limited to 4 years juniorbut also on-board this bonding helps the students
- The practical knowledge this college provides is very beneficial for a cadet to learn things more accurately and learn how to apply the theoretical things learned in the classroom. Has the largest marine workshop in INDIA
- The feeling of camaraderie this college instils in a person is a thing which differs the cadets of IMU KC from other campuses, the bonding which the batchmates have makes them a perfect person to have on board ship
Dislikes
- hostel food can be improved, however the overall hygiene of the food is good but taste is a concern
- Wifi is not available in the hostels and network connectivity might be a problem here
Remarks :
Got into this college through an entrance exam called IMUCET (held every year), cut off for Kolkata goes high for general category you must be under 1000 AIR, for OBC 3000-4000 AIR. The college's placement ratio and the exposure it provides to the students makes it suitable for marine engineering
Course Curriculum Overview :
This is a course which prepares cadets to be officers at the sea, so this course prepares a person for sea life mentally and even physically. You are put under a proper training that focuses on your personality development. Faculties are good and the teaching method is theoretical and practical, college has a proper training workshop to prepare cadets to be a good marine engineers. Exams are quite easy and could be cleared easily if focused class. Can be cleared by studying a month or 2 weeks prior the semesters
Internships Opportunities :
Internships opportunities are there from 2nd yr itself and many cadets go for ship training at INS SHIVAJI. Companies such as Bails logistics provides internship opportunities. There are various courses to enhance the skill of a cadet are being provided by the campus from the 2nd semester itself
Placement Experience :
In campus placement is present and has a promising placement rate of 95%. Major companies such as CHEVRON, NYK, DYNA GAS, TORM TANKERS, FLEET MANAGEMENT, SCORPIO, IOCL, etc visit every year for placement purposes. The basic package give is 400-1200 dollars per month. If a Cadet has passed all the exams and has a decent aggregate then he/she is eligible for placements from 3rd year itself.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
yearly fees is 275000 and the entire fees is 11 lacs for 4 year (hostel and academics incl), various scholarships can be availed. Fees is same irrespective of the category. There are extra charges for placements or other additional courses.
Campus Life :
Has 2 major fests lit-o-sphere (oct-nov) and Tempest(Asia's largest marine fest and held in feb) Various sports facilities such as Cricket, Football, Volleyball, basketball, Badminton, Hockey, swimming and various indoor games are present. Classrooms have AC and WIFI facility is available in the academic area Library has all the books and the books for the course are provided by the campus itself Extracurricular activities are present such as NCC(air and naval wing) Students get a proper exposure of everything and their personality development is done here
Hostel Facilities :
hostel infrastructure is good and food quality is okay, Hostel is compulsory for all because this is a residential course and everyone has to stay on campus throughout the semester, no festive breaks, this is done to prepare a cadet for life at sea. Only break given is during the semester end. You can take voluntary leave in case of emergency. Every hostel has a gym within and mess is inside every hostel premises. There is no fee for hostel, the total course fees is 11 lac for 4 years everything included.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
