The admission process was simple; you get your seat alloted by JoSAA or CSAB counselling according to the choice filled, then you come for physical verification which is itself conducted in the institute itself. That's all, no GD/PI. Since I am born and brought up in West Bengal, IIEST, Shibpur was always in one of my choices for admission. IIEST, Shibpur is a well reputed engineering college which has been crafting great engineers since 1856, everyone in Bengal knows about this college.
Curriculum is a bit outdated in my opinion but the faculties are extremely passionate about their subjects and hold good experience in industry so their insights are really helpful. Professors take good care of the students and try to make them grasp the concepts in class only.
IIEST Shibpur offers excellent internship opportunities through its dedicated Internship Cell, connecting students with top companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and PwC. Roles include software development, data analytics, and core engineering, with stipends ranging from ?40,000 to ?45,000 per month. Projects focus on real-world tasks like app development, data analysis, or structural design, enhancing skills and industry readiness. These internships bridge the gap between academics and practical experience, preparing students for successful careers.
IIEST Shibpur boasts a strong placement record, with a wide range of companies recruiting students from various disciplines. The institute has a dedicated placement cell that ensures a smooth process and assists students in securing job offers. Eligibility Criteria for Placement 1. Hostels are old, washroom not much clean. Breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner is served on time everyday. Food is of standard quality. There are a lot of PGs and flats available nearby if anyone wants to rent.
I do not have any idea abt hostel i just filled ir because the web is forcing me to and about internship and package theres nothing college gives you come on it’s not engineering college it’s a law college they do not provide much but the basic other things you gotta look out for yourself
Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
Placements are for MSc batch only. Last year the highest package was 28LPA from Citi Bank, Gurgaon. Majorly hiring companies that come in FETSU for placements only come to maths dept in SFSU. Packages offered here are based on qualities. It decent.
