Likes
- The college infrastructure and specially the faculties are really helpful who have ample knowledge in their respective domains.
- The college campus is really beautiful, and is well outside the city, which helps in having a peaceful environment and reduction of suburban noise.
Dislikes
- The college is located at an offbeat location in the outskirts of the city which might be troublesome for someone who needs urgent access of the city amenities.
- There is a high attendance criteria for students that needs to be maintained throughout our the semesters.
Remarks :
The college has a strict educational curriculum and a vast number of courses to choose from. It is also easily accessible by means of transportation and is just at a walking distance of 2 minutes from the Adisaptagram railway station. During the admission, there were formal discussions regarding the choice of study and my personal interests for my future. There were no written tests for admission. The college provides allotment majorly in the basis of the Rank obtained through the WBJEE exams, and a fewer number of seats through the JEE Mains exam and the JELET exam for students entering via lateral admission. The cutoff varies each year based on a number of factors.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is vast. The college strictly follows the syllabus set by the MAKAUT university, which adheres to the AICTE curriculum. Most of the professors in the college are highly qualified, having degress from IIT'S and NIT'S with many of them having a PHD in their domain. The faculties are really helpful and are always ready to help the students whenever required. As far as term exams are concerned, there are Four Continuous Assessment exams and two Practical Assessment exams for one semester which are held at a scheduled interval.
Internships Opportunities :
The college doesn't provide any internship opportunities on it's own to the students. The students must themselves look for internship opportunities in order to make them competent with industry technologies and upcoming cutting edge applications.
Placement Experience :
The college is visited by a number of IT and core companies, allowing the students to sit for multiple placement opportunities. Companies like Cognizant, TISMO, IBS software, Godrej, etc. visit the college campus every year for recruiting students. The eligibility criteria varies from company to company, although a 75% CGPA in each of secondary, higher secondary and the current BTech degree makes you eligible for most of the companies. The highest package offered last year was 9LPA and the average package was 3.7 LPA.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Out of the eight semesters, we have to pay an amount of Rs. 42000 for the odd semesters and Rs. 42000 plus Rs. 10000 additional fees (for skill development) in the even semesters. At the time of admission, we have to pay Rs. 10000 as caution fee which is refunded once we graduate from the college. Students applying for TFW gets the opportunity to avail a discount on the tution fee. As far as scholarship goes, there are multiple options available which caters to various students. The Swami Vivekananda Scholarship is the most availed amongst students.
Campus Life :
Life at AOT is decent. The campus is really beautiful with an artifical lake at the centre being the main attraction. The campus has a lot of greenery and is well maintained. Arcadia is the cultural fest of Academy of Technology which happens generally in the month of March-April. Besides, we also have a Tech Fest - Techfiesta which happens in the month of April-May. We also have multiple clubs and students' chapters in the college which enables the student to be a part of a community and grow together. There are also basketball court and football grounds in the college in which students can actively participate. There is also a students gymnasium in the college. Ingenium is the official digital wall magazine of AOT, run by the students of the college.
Hostel Facilities :
The campus life is great. Although I'm a day scholar, but from my batchmates and juniors I got to know that the hostel life is quite good, having all the required facilities and amenities. Although few complain about the food provided in the hostel, overall the life is good. The hostel fees is paid alongside the semester fees based on the rooms taken and whether they are shared rooms or not.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
